Couple of pictures snapped using Fraps in UK Truck Simulator.

No wonder it is lagging:

It is a really good game as well, but I can't enjoy it because it lags and jitters when driving. I was getting frame rates in single digits. Frame rate is in corner anyway at that time of screen shooting the game.

Using Nvidida GeForce 9600GT, 4GB RAM, Windows XP, 400W power supply.

I don't understand why this is so lagging and such an awful frame rate.

Please help me resolve this.

Thanks in advance. :)

have you enabled Vsync in the game? or can you force it via the nvidia control panel?

Vertical Sync?

I've just turned it to on and will give it a go. It was set to globel in my Nvidia control panel for that game.

Any other settings?

I have 'maximum pre-rendered frames' set to global setting of 3. Is that OK?

There's lots of options I don't understand.

As you can probably tell from the screen-shots, the graphics are great, but as telling by the frame rate and play - it is extremely lagging. Not unplayable, but not very enjoyable as the truck jolts a lot.

thanks so much. :)

dont know about any other settings much,
what version nvidia drivers are you using? i found my old 9800gt had better performance with some over others, have you tried a variety?

The latest for the Nvidida 9600GT.

Latest drivers are: 16/10/2010

So up to date.

I can't understand it. :(

try rolling back to the last set of drivers, i cant remember which version worked best with my old cards so, you might have to try a few

This keeps happening too:

When ever I select the low settings as default for game the screen comes up black. I don't understand it. It won't let me select the low settings, then when I do put the settings on high I get lag.

Very confused. I know the 9600GT isn't the best card, but it is not bad either and I'm sure it should be able to play this game smoothly.

p.s - The mirror isn't suppose to be that colour either. The screen should be as seen in the OP, but obviously in a different location in the game.

It's the game that is screwed up, not your PC.

Anyway, try installing the latest drivers for your CPU and GPU, dunno if motherboard needs an update too.

LOL at the "As you can probably tell from the screen-shots, the graphics are great" :D

Ive never played this game before but in flight simulator x it was limiting my fps to 20 for some reason see if theres and option in the options to turn off fps limiting

Oh lordy.

Motherboard, GPU?

I didn't know you could update a motherboard and I don't know what a GPU is.

CPU is the central processing unit, right?

I am baffled as to where I look.

I spent £16.00 on this game so it is very annoying. Just need to sort the lag out. Don't understand why the screen goes black, yet I can see the controls in driver view. Only happens when I try and turn the settings down to 'low'.

Anyway. Off on my horse. I will roll back the drivers. I think the last roll back I have is the drivers for 2008, but will see how that goes anyway.

:) thanks.

Have you tried taking one stick of ram out at a time and seeing if that solves the problem? Worth a try.

thanks.

The link you gave me to the graphics card is the latest drivers I have installed.

I will roll back to the ones I have before that.

Will also look up my processor and see if I can get an update for that

thanks. :)

Just loaded up Euro Truck Simulator, looks to be exactly the same game and I was getting a solid 60FPS(Vsync on and don't know how to turn it off) with the game a full 1080p and 8xAA everything max.

Might be worth seeing if Euro Truck Simulator makes any difference, might be a bit hard to get hold of mind.
