Fasted A.M cardio or post weight training

Is fasted HIIT a bad idea?

In fact - is a "Fasted SS jog @ 45 minutes followed by a Tabata row" a bad idea for quick fat loss results?
I was planning on doing this on my cardio days in between my 3 day split

I think doing fasted HIIT can be a bad idea if you're on a Keto diet as your muscles are already low on/depleted of glycogen. Can't remember where I read it.

If done properly it's quite taxing so if I was going to be doing HIIT I'd probaly eat something small to get me going as a full on bout of HIIT on empty would probably total me.

Have done 60 minutes on the x-trainer fasted before. Personally prefer a nice incline walk on the treadmil which is just as difficult and much more relaxing first thing.

Thanks mate - I know for a fact that fasted Cardio does work for me (it did before when I had to lose 15 kilograms in a short space of time) so I might just stick to that for my cardio days.
What's your thoughts on HIIT after a workout, or do you reckon you should be too knackered after a workout to be able to do HIIT properly?

What are your goals? Fat loss?
Am and pre-workout aerobic are best :)

Goals are a typical "IwannalooklikeBradPittfromfightclub" :P
Seriously though, since I surf and want to race my Downhill bike more, I need to be relatively light, but strong at the same time.

I'm going to start by doing the split in this forum sticky and do cardio the days in between

Then I would simply mix things up. Complete aerobic exercise before weights (there is science behind that) and on your off days do some HITT and anerobic exercise :) just be creative and enjoy it.

AM as in in the morning AM. PWO = Post Work Out.

SS = Steady state, HIIT = High Intensity Interval Training, for future reference ;)

Thanks for that, AM work outs is something i wont be doing. I hate mornings:p

You could probaly pull off some Tabata Intervals (only 4 minutes long) after a workout but it would really depend on how tired you are. I'm usually too pumped to be able to do any cardio apart from an incline walk.

Hi all, now im in two minds wether to change things up abit on the fat burning front, i would usualy put this in the gym rats thread but I rarely get a response, which do you prefer or would it be best for me to keep at doing my swimming/rowing etc after weight training.

Do 10 minutes cardio before your weight training and then 40 minutes afterwards, works quite nicely, this is what i personally do.

Im with FreeFaller on this. When I was 17 and a half stone of fat I managed to loose 3 stone in 4 months due to AM Pre breakfast Cardio, 30 mins on a stationary bike at average speeds.

I have tried both, for the last 8 weeks I've been doing my cardio through out the day, and on gym days it'd be after my gym session. I love pushing myself to the limits when weight training, add in 20 - 30 mins of cardio on the cross trainer afterwards (I usually aim for 150 calories in 10 minutes so work it out) and my evenings tend to be me being so so so so tired I can't do anything. The fat loss has been steady but not that great. I am now going back to 30 mins AM pre breakfast cardio sessions 5x a week...
