Just watching Coppers...

He got arrested when he didnt comply with the order. As already said theres no point having powers and then not enforcing them.

Disclaimer: I didnt see it, so could be speaking out of my ass!

But if i was told to stop doing something which wasnt breaking a law, and ORDERED to leave the area by a police officer, i'd be inclined to ignore it to if i wanted to. Sober or otherwise.

The police have no greater power than the man on the street, other than the power of arrest. If they choose to enforce that power they need a significant reason - and if the action didnt justify it they'd have to explain it away. The role of police is to protect the public, ordering people away from an area doesn't fit with their power or the public protection, unless the person is affecting other peoples safety - at which point they should be arrested.

i saw this too. some remarkably stupid people on there. the bloke who spat blood at the cop and then got arrested with his trousers down? what must his family/friends/employer think?!

1) that person started swearing first. The police officers told them calmly and politely to leave. They only started swearing when they were abused and their buttons pushed. This is human nature and entirely understandable

Agree... however it could have been handled much better. Pointless stood there filming them waiting for them to say a naughty word (LOL) so they can arrest him... and his sheep friend.

2) the meat head was arrested because he broke the instruction to leave. Theres no point in having powers if you arent going to enforce them. I suspect taking him back to the police station, then releasing him without charge was entirely down to his calm behaviour. Had he kicked off, swore, kicked and punched as they usually do, he would have been booked. Nice to see officers using the power of discretion for a change instead of reading from a book.

He only got the instruction to leave because he was pushed into them... so what?

The banning thing is retarded... especially when it's not warranted. Overreaction = I'm not going to take you seriously.

3) the couple were arrested because there is a clear force policy on domestic disputes. This is born out of years of experience separating domestics, leaving the individuals, then being called back out again later in the day, again and again as the argument goes on. You can't separate the parties involved in a domestic the way you separate two randoms from fighting in a street. So it's best just to nip it in the bud and arrest both. Where does it end ? when they start fighting again ? when the mates turn up and join in too ? or when one of the mates stabs the other ? Domestics can so easily escalate its easier to stop it early.

a lot of what ifs there... she said she didnt want to make a... claim. should have sent them in different directions and told them to get a grip and ignore each other for the rest of the night. if they get called back... arrest them - fair enough.

4) the bloke who was punched by the hulk was arrested for being a ****. I wouldnt say it was obvious he was copis mentis at all. He was play acting like a girl, mouthing off, he had the smack from the guy dressed as the hulk coming imo. Whatever they put on the charge sheet doesnt really matter, he was arrested for acting like a ****

I disagree... he wanted to make a statement and they were dragging the **** out of it.

5) The respect was lost by the police themselves was it ? in your opinion obviously. 'Cos its cool to hate the police isn't it ?

Overreaction + over policing = loss of respect

they were showing off in front of the camera and showing complete disregard for somebody else's property. Experience has shown them that this type of behaviour is only going to escalate. Yes what they were doing now didnt seem that bad, but thats why they have the instruction to leave.

It stops it escalating and doesnt fill up police cells.

He got arrested when he didnt comply with the order. As already said theres no point having powers and then not enforcing them.

They only banned him etc when he got pushed into them... which wasn't a big deal at all :/

I got confused with the man that got arrested for spitting at the police ( With the bust nose )

The Male copper dragged the man to the ground and started saying "He Spat blood on my face". Then when they placed him into the police van he said "He spat at the floor and told me to suck his D***"

The camera didn't show us the coppers face to prove if he did or not. Just seemed like an excuse to arrest the man after he started shouting abuse.

i seen the traffic one the other day..

man what a bunch of ***holes. arrogent, condessending, thick, double standards.

makes me hate the police even more than i do already.

I thought the traffic one was good. Showed them in a real light rather than the sort that gets shown on Road Wars etc

I noticed this too.

Can't wait for the 'riot' one next week.

Wasn't it a case of the man couldn't breath through nose so when talking the mess that was his face couldn't help but spit blood on her?

They do have the power in this instance:

Section 27 of the Violent Crime Reduction Act 2006 provides the police with a power to issue a direction to an individual to leave a locality to minimise the risk of alcohol related crime or disorder arising and/or taking place.

Those lads were in the town centre, had been drinking and had already been caught messing around with someone elses property (the car). It wouldnt take much for the car owner to come out of a pub up the road, see someone doing something to his pride & joy and all of a sudden a ruckus kicks off.

From watching the first 3 minutes it seems like the police believe that people want to end up puking in the street. They said that people want to be drunk before they get to town, this is true. Speaking from a students point of view it's cheaper to get drunk before going out and then just top up when I'm out. I would only have 1 or 2 drinks in a club and we would leave the house at 11-12ish. These people do not represent all binge drinkers.

I think you'll find... it's spelt arrogant and condescending........................................................................................................................... :) :) :)

On the clip had some woman throwing up, the female police officer was holding her hair (why?) and then she decided to pull her hair hard enough for the drunk woman to scream.

Criminals need a good kicking in the back of the police van, Russian style. Silly fines and 24 hours in a comfortable police cell doesn't do jack.

It was early in the night, and fair enough they were messing up against a car... no damage was caused though. He was let on his way and was then shoved infront of the camera... so he got a leaflet with details on where hes banned from... lul.

I've been enjoying the series & even think a couple of the WPC's are hot.

The police display too much emotion in that video, they are not calm.

If someone cannot contain themselves they should not have that job of going out there dealing with drunk morons, instead they should be reassigned to another task.

If someone was to give a smart ass comment, similar to a grammar nazi on the forum, id imagine one of them to just come out with "you trying to get cocky? dont talk back" which is exactly the same as "wat da **** u say blud"

i dont get why u cant even swear at a police officer.

as soon as u do they start crying and threatening public order blah blah blah..

its a joke.

they need to at least carry guns so that people respect them.

It's a public order offence to swear at anyone. It's just that the police can enforce it. And I wish that they did more.
