Bt Fibre to Cabinet

If the cable follows a strait (ish) line then the max speed. Physical location is no guarantee of line length sadly :(

About 35-38Mb I'd say. I don't think I've seen the full 40Mb from the Speedtest results. Always around 37Mb or so.

40Mb/s sync if you're only 150m from the cab. Don't rely on speedtest results to judge the sync speed. Take the IP profile from the BT speedtester.

Pay the extra £5 a month and you'll get £50 back from not paying an installation fee, 10mb up not 2mb and unlimited usage.

You get what you pay for. It is a premium product, just like ADSL when it was first launched. An 18 month contract and traffic shaping with BT Infinity should be ringing major alarm bells!

Meh, I download upto 300GB a month without any slowdowns at 35Mb/s+. I'll stick with the cheaper "inferior" product if it will save me hundreds of pounds over the contract term.

If they start shaping usenet, then I will come back and say you were right.

BT Infinity is awesome. on ADSL I was lucky to get 2mb, now I get 38mb. Ping to bbc.co.uk is 13ms, multiplay.co.uk is 15ms for me. NZB downloads I get around 36mb/s which is rather sweet.

My infinity conection started at 38mb but it fell over the first few months to the quoted level of 21mb where it has stopped for now. With out line stats it is impossible to telll what is causing the drop in speed and BT will not investigate un less the line falls below 15mb
