IT Xmas Party, looking for Entertainment Ideas?

Hi,

My other has has taken over organising the IT Xmas Party for reasons that don't really matter. She is being encouraged to arrange more entertainment by our boss. Last years consisted of a DJ, a Caricaturist and the most terrible Comedian ever.

So far for this year she has a DJ, she was looking at things like retro arcade machines, Pacman, Space Invaders, Air Hockey or Giant Scalextric but is struggling to fit them in the building as they have to come up a lift.

Can any of guys share your experiences of any good ideas that have made your IT Xmas parties fun and enjoyable? I guess one of the problems my other half is having is our IT department most people aren't really interested in turning up at a free bar and getting smashed whilst dancing about to the Locomotion...

Lol dafties, I shall add more info - venue is booked, no. of people around 100, DJ is booked, goody bags arranged with retro sweets/techie treats, raffle for techie prize e.g. Xbox + Kinect/iPad, lucky dip for things like Paper Jamz guitars, Silverlit helicopters, retro gaming toys, current DVDs/Blu-rays.

Looking to add some entertainment, Comedian is hard, crowd is a bit old for magicians and balloon animals, must be something that could be laid on to have a bit of a laugh?
 
All I can think of is episode of the IT Crowd when Jen became Entertainment Manager.

Or, a trip to hooters, I know there is a few popping up in various UK cities??
