***The Official Gran Turismo 5 Thread***

This'll teach me to be unprepared.. first the whole thing needs an update.. then ive got to install it.. controller needs charging.. headset needs charging.. even had to move the whole thing out of the lounge..

I'm going to play tennis.
 
My take on the game so far is its very good , the premium cars are very nice and the standards are fine when racing and seeing as i usually have the view of only the track when racing its not a prob , i have got to level 7 and in the races that have had standard and premium cars together you do get to see the difference then and to some gamers it will be a major negative point .

I really like the way the cars handle and in one arcade race i choose the F40 with no driving aids and wow it was a handfull breaking from high speed and went off several times :p but still felt great so i would say yes the game isnt perfect but i can see me spending hours on end playing this .
 
oh yeah, it was 12mins and still on 12mins, i'll go make a cuppa then.
oooh forgot i have that Apex book, i'll flick through that :)
 
Just nabbed the last copy from my local Tesco, if i can get the gf off Assassins Creed Brotherhood i might just get to play this tonight!

So, a few things which I do dislike ... so far.

Collecting cars which have been awarded. Takes about 1 minute per car with 30 seconds of rubbish music during the reveal. Great.

Getting to an event in an unsuitable car and finding no direct access to my garage from the event. WTF ?

Menu menu menu menu click menu menu menu menu click Select car, menu menu menu menu click, menu menu menu menu Event :(

Anyone had a problem with the game saves? I am fairly sure mine is corrupted as the game was stuck in some menus, so I quit and now I have restarted I am getting asked all the initial questions again.

Granted the collision sounds suck balls but I think every other sound is fine..

u know what it sounds like?

imagine a plastic barrel type thing and someone hitting it with a piece of 2by4

ive crashed a car into the back of someone, and ill tell you. it didnt sound like that at all. that sound fx is terrible.
 
Guys I think i'm stuck lol xD

I'm on the startup screen, it's asking me to input 'Basic Information' like messages to people and settings to see if i'm on-line etc., filled all that in but can't click OK for some reason. I click it but nothing happens and I can't go back either.

After the pre data install and the patch of course :p hell you only have to do it once though so no biggie .

Disable internet, start game and go
