I have a 360 but I want to play God of War - What do I do!?

Buy God of War and then go into work ans say that you have the game but nothing to play it on! Offers of people willing to loan you a PS3 will flood in.

At least that's what I did when I bought GTA4 when I had no xbox. Ending up keeping it for about a year.
 
It's my least favourite genre but I think the general consensus is Bayonetta > GOW3 so get that.

I've tried both demos and didn't last 5 mins with either.

Dante's Inferno is much closer to being like GOW3 and both are better than Bayonetta IMO. Bayonetta is much closer to DMC4 from the list further up.

God of war is the most overrated game series in history.

It's so boring and shallow to play just has fancy graphics.

The big problem is that the actual gameplay and mechanics are shallower than spit.

Just forget the game it's utterly dull compared to a game like bayoneta or vanquish.
 
Another vote for Darksiders. Despite it's best efforts to come across as being completely generic, it's an extremely well polished and enjoyable game. Played it through on 360, currently going through it again on pc, possibly my favourite game from this year.

My anticipation for GoW3 was very high based on how much I liked the first two. It's more than competent, though the impact was reduced due to the game largely sticking to the tried and trusted formula. It's still one of the leading games in it's genre, there just happens to be quite a few games over the past couple years that have closed the gap.

If you're looking to get as similar to GoW3 as possible your best bet is probably any from Dante's Inferno, Bayonetta, Ninja Gaiden or DMC.
 
the atmosphere in every GOW game is epic, although nothing genunie. The producer himself also mentioned that the game was inspired by devil may cry, ninja gaiden.

Find that hard to believe as both those games have deep rewarding combat systems and god of war is basically mash one button

Yay, I thought I was going to be this thread's pariah by saying that GoW was vastly overrated, but someone has beaten me to it :D
