I need an emergency vet in Nottingham pronto!

all my local vets are shut, including the local emergency vet whos supposed to provide emrgency 24hr care, i need a vet urgently, my elderly cat has had what i presume to be a stroke, she can't stand up, has messed herself, is pretty damn vacant & very distressed, & try as i might i can't find a bloody vet to take her to/get them to come out.

nottingham ocuk folk i need your help, please!.

Whilst you wait for a reply I suggest you call one of the 118 numbers - they should provide you with an emergency number for a vet. Be sure to tell them the numbers which you've already tried.

doesnt the vet have an emergancy number to ring, or of you ring give ou a number to ring?

Phone Nottingham Uni. It has one of the only 5 vets schools in the UK. They will know a local Vet or they may even say go down there.

PS. If you are already a customer of a local vet and your cat is his/her patient, the vet could get struck off for not responding. Vets are obliged to provide 24/7 care for all registered animals.

this is a case where you should actually be ridiculed for starting a thread. How do you manage to wipe your own backside?

He's a bit desperate and stressed out - I've been there myself.

Vets are a real pain to contact out of hours - when you REALLY need them of course.

It's not a problem as such, just amusement that in this case of pending disaster you resorted to posting on a forum rather than picking up a phone where you would have actually got an answer.

Whilst I can't help with the address of a vet, I do sympathise with you. The same happened to our cat although he was only 9 :( Turned out it was a blood clot on the spine or something along those lines.

Hows your cat doing VoG? Any luck finding a vet?

she's over at the ever reliable PDSA of all places, currently in an oxygen tent, ive had my furry little friend for over 17 yrs, the vet's warned me she doesn't expect there to be any improvement, but i had to give pep ( my cat ) every opportunity, no matter how slim.

They asked me to sign a euthanasia form, which i have done, just in case she has another stroke during the night so she won't suffer. :(
