***The Official Gran Turismo 5 Thread***

Dup is right, I just disconnected and it's fine, bit of a joke how being connected effects just the basics of loading menu's and actually being able to load the bloody game.

Japs have never been great with anything online related lol.

Are you able to 'tune' the car once you have bought new parts or does it do this automatically? I read previously that somebody was tuning their ferarri to get the max speed out of it, and it can be done automatically or manually?

Hate when games get mixed views cause you really don't know whats wrong and whats right haha.

barmyllama poser is having a bad time of it, I'm experiencing none of the issues barmyllama poster is.

Quick loading, no tearing AT ALL, the G27 flappy paddle combo is schweet as.

Just almost golded the ring in a 1954 Merc SL - would have nailed it if it wasn't for some pesky homosexualist in a red 320 SL

Online games are a hoot !

Won a load of championships, £150k+ in my bin, the game is only just opening up, I'm remembering bends, curves, combinations and tracks from years ago and I'm loving it

I 'played' for 45 mins I spent most of that time watching the screen with the gt logo on. I've got the driving force gt wheel, the driving seems okay. I'm disappointed about the quality of the standard cars, I thought it would be bad and it is! I'm sharing the opinions of most of you who are disappointed. I sold my ms wheel because I thought I wouldn't play forza anymore.

Hopefully the network is the problem with the loading times, although I think I disconnected from the network!

Edit.. I'll try again now!

The front menu has a news ticker, it connects to some GT5 network and obvious its having problems... Reason for the slowness.

Anyone just playing the game and first thoughts are not good, give it time... this is a game that needs a few more hours then others...

As for the graphical glitches, screen tearing I'm really hoping PD get so many complaints or read the complaints online they apply some fixes for this...

And, are PD adding leaderboards? Have to say, first racing game i've ever played and no leaderboards? Or I can't find them, but then the online is really slow this evening.... On launch day as well..

Maybe Sony /PD underestimated demand? Unlikely more like they messed it up.. Good old sony, they do make life hard for everyone, and themselves...

What the CROCODILE HAT is up with the effin menus after reading the network terms of use!!!!!??????????? AGHHRRGHGHH

Cool nice you're enjoying the game, but there IS SCREEN TEARING in this game... I don't know about you, I'm not calling you a liar or saying you don't know what it is..

But game is full of screen tearing, london with 12 cars on track, it tears with any car view....

Some just see it more then others, I hope PD patch some better v sync into the game.. Doubt it, they wanted 60fps 1080, thing is... I doubt it actually does 60fps most of the time.. oh well

I know, I'm hoping they fix it. to watch these nice visuals and seen it rip across the screen, its such a shame... i'd go as far and call PD idiots, 5 years and you'd think they would have said..

"hey screen tearing - must get rid of that as we want it to look real" don't see episodes of top gear test track and it rips and half the car windscreen moves and the other half then catches up a second later...

i do wonder at times.. :(

Going between menus it sometimes takes ages then comes up with an error that it cant connect to the server.

Seriously come on Sony/PD they have had more than enough time to get servers sorted.

Only way around it is to disable the network on the ps3 main settings (or unplug the network cable etc) or just sit and wait eveuntually you will get the cant connect error.

But i dont know if its just me been thick

in the music options from the GT Mode home screen thing i've set Race BGM to off yet it still place the music in a race, is there another setting somewhere for sond, i cant even find one to adjust volume levels.

Anyone tried the World Tour yet?

The first one with the 8C is solid! Can't carry enough speed through the bends :(

The second one at Monza however is a doddle!

Third one is a PITA in the Lambo.

Fourth Rally one.. just lol.. why does a stripped out rally car seem to struggle on a rally course?
