oh noes.. all those hours we spent flattening that bit of land :(

if we cant get it back, we need a plan for a new one, possibly not quite so big :P

As I've said on his damn blog several times...

He cant freakin test every single piece of hardware and software combination...Hence the reason the games in Alpha...You've chosen to play it AS AN ALPHA, so there will be issues.

It just gets on my nerves a bit

You won't loose me and Siewwan, this is a great server and a cracking game :). People can wait a few days or weeks until everything is sorted out.

Yeah. On the one hand I can understand players frustration when a patch goes out and it breaks a lot of things, but this a test version, expect downtime, bugs etc. Notch is doing a great job.

Its just gets on my nerves a bit, people expect so much, not until the other month he was doing all of this practically by himself, and giving the poor sod God knows how many 'demands'..."I gave you money so you need to do x y z"..Erm, NO :p

yes its frustrating, but chrikey, less people bitched when there was bugs with the CSS beta for crying out loud :p And you had to pay for that too! (I think :p)

OK, got a hold of Multiplay on the phone. Gar's server has been rebooted and is up and running!

Just be careful though, I died when I first joined and lost most of my inventory by the time I got back to where I'd been.

Also, mobs don't appear to be on as far as I could see.

creepers don't die in hand to hand combat, useless when arrows are still not working. I managed to kill 1, but that's because it fell into the block below and took suffocation damage.
Pressure plates don't work.
Buttons don't work.
Some wooden doors don't work.
I can place blocks under my feet without jumping and complete engulf myself.
I don't die from drowning.
I don't die from falling.
I don't die from fire.
Only mobs can hurt me.
And annoyingly:
Tree leaves weren't fixed and all mods are broken.

I still stand by what I said. Of course there will be issues in alpha but why release an update that breaks everything in the game? If it so blatantly wasn't working surely he should just wait.

How would he know if it wasn't working on YOUR SYSTEM, with YOUR server mods and settings?

I know, Notch needs to go and by 100 servers running loads of virtual servers with different mod and hardware combinations just so an Alpha update doesn't update.

Or better yet, don't release all the updates he does every week / month because he needs to test them himself for a year before its 'definately' working :p
 
Great work on keeping the server going Gar :) Hopefully the next patch will be a bugfix rather than introducing more things that aren't quite working.
 
Upside down pyramids (inputs I think) went on fire along with half of spawn. Why do people insist on having wood right next to lava, it might work when the mods in place but it wont as soon as a new patch is out.

Right just doing a quck fly by from work good to see the servers up thanks windle.

Have changed the settings some monsters & PVP should be now working.

Will post more later back to work now.
