The Ashes 2010-11: Australia v England ** spoilers **

Oh dear England all out for 260 with Siddle tearing up the English batters and takes a nice hattrick....hmmm not so sure if i should have put my money on England to win this but still early days so lots more to go.

Will be interesting to see how the Aussies fare batting wise...so far they are 25-0 at close.

Not the best start, but 260 isn't the end of the world, good knock from Bell under pressure (how often do you hear that  )

Loving how the time difference over here - every game is 4pm-midnight

Bit gutted thought I'd be able to watch the highlights in demand from my iPad but the sky player app doesn't let you watch on demand like on the web:(

Anyone got any ideas? Seems a bit rubbish considering there adverts ashes anywhere

That's strange, even for the football it clearly shows you that you can use Sky Player on your laptop, phone etc.

I find even the computer based one fiddly at times, have you got it up ok on your phone?

got the app for my ipad working for live TV. On the web it says it need the microsoft thing silver something. But that won't install on my ipad:confused:

We'd better do something remotely threatening tonight. Anything more than a hundred lead for the Aussies by the time of the second innings, and we're going to be looking at a very painful capitulation.

Although of course, that's Old England thinking, and this New England has spine, and grit, and self-confidence, right? Right?

have some faith , before the hat trick Aussies hardly looked dangerous did they ?!?!?

I predict aussies out for around 280-290 and a steady end to the day by our openers

If the bowlers are still on point then I don't think 260 is that bad, OK it's not ideal but if we can limit them to a similar score then all is well. Aim to get them out with no more than say 350 at the end of the day 2.

This is why I love test cricket! You never know who is going to win and the game changes all the time!

So Anderson starts with a no ball... bodes well :p

Nevertheless, I have faith and I am fully confident our attack will bowl the Aussies out for a modest score. However, I do think they will have a lead.

Its obvious, but an early wicket really is key.

Dammit! Just missed stumping Katich. He was in no mans land. :(

This is a good over by Anderson, he's looking very threatening.

True, but I'm a pessimistic sort. We're in Australia. You know what happens when we're there. :p

That was a really close LBW decision there, looks like it's not our day :(

Bowling attack looks really tame, not threatening at all, might be time to bring Swann on?

:D Yet again the Ashes delivers, what an epic first Test so far and it's only the 2nd day!

168-5 Game on!

So at the end of play Australia are 220 for 5 (80 overs) and 40 runs behind:

Watson c Strauss b Anderson 36
Katich c and b Finn 50
Ponting c Prior b Anderson 10
Clarke c Prior b Finn 9
Hussey not out 81
North c Collingwood b Swann 1
Haddin not out 22
Extras 11

Close! Need to hit early tomorrow/tonight and get one of those two out asap. If we do, there's a good chance they'll have barely any lead to shout about.

Good comeback from England to get 5 wickets...have to say Ponting is in terrible form...he just cant get any runs.

Clarke just doesnt look fit at all, seems to be in a lot of pain because of his back injury.

Still Hussey as usual gets the Aussies out of trouble...if they can get his wicket later tonight quickly then i think the Aussies will collapse like a pack of cards.

Still an open game by the looks of it.
