Out of interest, people who cannot do the TG VW challenge, are you doing it in manual? I was constantly dropping gear so I was at max power maybe it might help if you try manual...
 
Quick question:

Worth buying or not? How much better (other than just more content) is it over prologue?
 
Think I've been a bit blond...

I was looking in the dealership at the cars and trying to work which cars are premium and standard..

It looks like new cars are all premium and second hand are standard, as I can't seem to find any other way of tellling.. lol
 
Just got an email from wheelstand pro. They said they will deliver my stand next Friday due to being inundated with orders as a result of the release of GT5 :D

Its quite difficult! I did it quite a few times to get it right, draft the yellow car then take him on the RHS you will then draft into the car behind him, he brakes early so be ready to take him on the inside of the corner, then out-brake the next 3 cars on the inside into the next corner.
Then from there draft the car in front and you can out-brake another 2 cars on the outside coming into the right hander.
They all bunch coming into the right hander, get on the power early but don't drift too far and you will go around most of them to get into 3rd or 4th, from there draft them all the way down to the hairpin (don't try and overtake before as they will out power you and you will drop away from them) then out-brake 3rd possibly second guy into the hairpin, feather the throttle behind the lead car and he drops off the power, duck on the inside of him then he moves away from you then its just get back full on power to the line.
Make sure you right behind the lead car going around the corner and duck on the inside when he lets off otherwise you will be side by side and he will win!

Oh but it is, you can beat the lead car on the last straight exiting the final corner.

The key to success in this test is good use of drafting, very smooth cornering and no mistakes.

Wait until you try golding IC10, it's a similar concept, but you're driving a 512BB which is a lot more fun to drive.
 
IC10 is a killer. I can get to the back of the 1st place car by the last straight but then it's too late. Cars too fast for me :( Got all gold A, all gold B, all gold except 10 on IC and I'm doing IB now.

Some of these gold times require some fluke of driving, you have to get scruffy and right on the edge which I think is a bit unfair really. I'm literally shouting "YES!!" when I eventually get gold, its taking me ages!
 
Just doing this World Tour at the moment on Specials. Its pretty cool the way its all done, getting into different cars etc. I like it!

Has their been a definitive list released yet showing what cars you get for winning which competitions?
 
The VW camper van thing is very easy once you know how. Sideswiping the other vans (not too hard, though) is the trick to overtaking them without getting disqualified. Also draft/slipstream as much as you can. It make a huge difference.

If I can get to 2nd place by the end of lap 1, anyone can!

Edit: Also Don't use the brakes apart from when approaching the Hammerhead. I just release accelerator and then sort of slide the car sideways, then accelerate when I am facing the right way. Not sure what the technical term for this is (powersliding?).

You know, one thing thats great about this game. I have it playing on demo mode in the background. The graphics alone are very lush to look at and admire :)
 
Has anyone done the Gran Turismo all stars in expert series? If so what car did you use? they all seem to have about 900BHP and can turn easily, I can't seem to find a car to buy to win.
