Oh Lord....

Am I the only one who thinks that games should not be turned into movies (or visa versa)?

They just end up being so rubbish!

Some games could make the jump. Uncharted was one of them, but then they chose Wahlberg who I don't see pulling off Drake. Also, why is there a father and uncle? There's no father and uncle in the game!

That's usually covered by the 'based on the game' tag that comes with these kind of crappy films.
Although I think they call it artistic license.

I lost hope for this film earlier in the year when I read the following quote:

He's clearly not even bothering to even play the game, it's obviously beneath him to properly research someone else's IP.

Pretty despicable imo. Just using someone elses developed idea as a cash cow, with no intention of doing it any justice.

Here's hoping Naughty Dog put a stop to this. If a movie has to be made I'd rather the original scriptwriters were involved.

Naughty Dog told PlayStation University how close they really are with the development of the movie and that they have trust with all who are working on it.

You're right, he is pretty much a one-trick pony.

But his one trick is playing smart, wise cracking action characters with a dash of sarcasm, good use of one-liners, a propensity for getting into trouble and a weakness for the ladies.

? Seriously, he sounds like him and looks like, he would be perfect for this role. Wahlberg is a good actor (despite what Max Payne and The Happening would lead you to believe), but he is totally wrong for Drake.

Most never do though..... I struggle to think of one movie (based on a game) that made it big.

Hmmm Was Tomb Raider any good?

Fillion is brilliant in Castle.
Haven't played Uncharted but anything with him in it is normally good.

None really have. The potential is there but there haven't been directors who take these projects on and know the source material well. Which is a shame.

The four Resi films did quite well profit wise, and the Final Fantasy films if you count them.

Nathan who???...exactly havent heard of the guy although ive watched a lot of movies but i cant say ive ever recognised him.

But i do like Wahlberg....i think hes a decent enough actor...was brilliant in the Departed i thought and a few other movies hes done in the past but he has done some utter trash ie the Other guys which i thought was pretty dire in all honesty.
