***The Official Gran Turismo 5 Thread***

Well there wouldnt be TRIM support and once its starts slowing down it would be difficult to format it and replace the data thats on it...

SSD does work, But I don't think they make much of a difference.

My load times seem to be ok.. The "Ring" loads up in about 30 seconds and that's 13miles of track or something.

guys i havent got the game yet, but how far can you customize your car by appearance? Does it have such options as need for speed underground for example? or is it like old GT's where you only have the option to upgrade performance and not appearance?

Any chance someone who has completed the Pick-Up Truck Challenge in Amateur Series can gift me the Vehicle they used?

Please note: You can only gift 1 car per day, I have already gifted 1 today, so I will not be able to gift the vehicle back till tomorrow. Please post here if you gift me one, so no-one else does, or I will end up with duplicates and I will have to wait every 24 hours to return them, one by one.

Could I just ask, having done the Top Gear events (VW and Lotus) last night, is everyone using a pad to play this? Using a G25 I found them, quite honestly, easy . Don't get me wrong, the Lotus is a proper fighter, but it's not difficult to get the hang of.

I think a lot of people are using pads, As I'm the same with DFGT and finding most things quite easy and can pick them up quick enough.

Im using a dfgt and havn't done the vw challenge yet but have done the lotus challenge. The hard part for me was the ai, constantly getting dq'd for tapping them.

The AI definitely make the challenges more difficult than they should really be, but then I guess they wouldn't be a challenge otherwise :D. I needed one or two runs to suss where the AI went and then you just use their consistent movement to your advantage. The Lotus was proper fun and a real reward to get right.

EDIT - I should point out my question was out of genuine curiosity, rather than any arrogance :).

I can sort you out if you need matey, just add me (timbrad) :)

Pad user here. The VW one was quite easy, the Elise 111R was more difficult.
Im the opposite - found the Elise one great fun and easy - kept playing it as not having ASM made its so easy to slide controllably. The Camper one felt harder just because nearly every MPH counts...

The AI probably is the only thing that vaguely makes it difficult just because rather than act as a Human they just do some very silly (unexpected) things...

theres a seperate thread for this....search!
The GT5 PSN ID threads been merged into this by accident - Ive already raised the error to the Mods but not sure if theyve acted yet...

Anyone got a Jap Classic they could send me? Getting sick of looking for one... lol

Anything Japanese and 1979 or earlier, ideally something like a Nissan Skyline 2000GT-R... but anything 120BHP+ will do.
