***The Official Gran Turismo 5 Thread***

I'm not really enjoying the whole grinding for races thing now. It was fun at first but there are two events I need to finish and both of them are ones that you need a purpose built racing car for, the kind that cost at least a few million from the used car dealer. I have got 1 million saved and it's starting to drag a bit. :(

What events are these? I needed a 'race car' for the GT World Tour. Just bought a Murcialgo and made it lighter.

Watch this vid, top gear Elise challenge 100% professional, no driving aidsn manual transmission, no TCS, no ASM, no ABS, no driving line etc.

That's pretty much how I did it, and with the same settings, though I did have the driving line still on for the only reason that I hadn't turned it off!

It really isn't too hard :).

I understand this if it starts you off in slower cars and moves upto the likes of F1. But a crash is a crash and it should have full damage from the start.

If anything, it teaches players that they are indestructable.

You're absolutely right, but then 'we' are not exactly new players :). Maybe just allowing it to be switched on or off would have been better, but then GT has never been exactly normal in the way it does things.

If you want relatively quick money, the best way I found it is to do the speedway in American Challenge in extreme events, It's 98k a race, 4.4k xp and takes 4:30 minutes to complete so roughly 1.2M an hour.

I need to do the Lambo and Ferrari events in the Professional Series. Can anyone recommend what vehicles would be a good purchase for these. Preferably ones that m,ay also be useful for future events as I don't like to buy an expensive car, just for 1 race/event.

Gallardo for the Lambo event mate, you'll need one for the Gallardo Race later ;)
458 for the Ferrari event IMO - As fast as the enzo but 1/4 of the price :D

I used a Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560-4 which can be used for the Gallardo Trophy race in expert and my fully kitted out Ferrari 458 Italia for the other one, which I use in most races that allow it.

I have 800K credits

Gallardo is 253.3k
458 Italia is 283k

Will I have to spend more upgrading these to win the events, or will they be powerful enough out of the box?

Just done the AMG beginer, got silver in all of them apart from one gold. I really enjoyed it apart from one thing.

Why does the ****** game reload the ****** track for every ****** section, it takes ****** long enough to load the ****** track without reloading it five ****** times.

And the ****** game didn't give eff all apart from a stupid ****** new ****** useless ****** photo ****** location.

Im trying to get a photo shot of the red heat rings when breaking but ive not seen any in replays yet driving the ferrari italia , even at night under heavy breaking i have not seen any , is it on all cars you should get the heat rings or just certain types?

thanks

Not being funny, but considering the amount of people that have struggled with that challenge, plus the obvious fact the guy in the video is very good, that statement sounds a little patronising.

It is hard, otherwise there wouldn't be the amount of comments saying so :)

It's very hard even with driving aids on. You have to be really accurate with the throttle and make minor steering movements.
