Especially with the wheel remember that smoothness is key, no sudden sharp changes of direction/acceleration/braking or you'll crash off :)

Why did you spend so much money if you hate the game genre?

That's the most idiotic thing i've heard for a racing sim.

I suppose the key is then that this is a 'driving' sim, not a racing sim, and it's one designed to take people from the very beginning of car control all the way to advanced racing technique.

Just spent the last 3 hours trying to get a 750bhp Murcielago round the Circuit de la Sarthe with chicanes in 1st place in the GT World Tour. Only a little bit of traction control and ABS assisting.

Try finding a reference point for braking when travelling at 215mph. Scary as hell.

Also, does anyone else hate how you have to "take delivery" of every car you win? The whole process takes about 20 seconds. Why can't they just be dumped straight into your garage?

madness? stupidity? :D

i think deep down id love to like racing games and my dislike is down to being pathetic at them hopefully a wheel may change that
although my six year old son can rival my lap times....

Dont know if this has already been posted, found it on another forum, GT5 Prize Cars

Comes in handy working out whether to buy a specific car.

Thanks. :)

And I finally found a thread with a prize car list too.

The wheel may actually make things harder in the short to medium term. I found it impossible to relate to what was happening on the screen to my wheel and pedals. This was in Forza 3 however, I have a sneaky suspicion the cars in GT5 are a touch more forgiving.

Yep it's one of my biggest annoyances. I have about 18 cars in there purely because I can't be bothered getting them all out. :p

I'm not really enjoying the whole grinding for races thing now. It was fun at first but there are two events I need to finish and both of them are ones that you need a purpose built racing car for, the kind that cost at least a few million from the used car dealer. I have got 1 million saved and it's starting to drag a bit. :(

I understand this if it starts you off in slower cars and moves upto the likes of F1. But a crash is a crash and it should have full damage from the start.

If anything, it teaches players that they are indestructable.
