I don't know what's worse. The wildly historical inaccuracies, the blatant anglophobia, the fact it has Mel "I hate the English for some unknown reason" Gibson or the fact that despite all this it is actually popular.

Complete tosh.

I think the best thing to come out of Braveheart is Stewart Lee's take on it, Frankie Boyle's was fairly entertaining but it's all about Mr Lee and the fact he did the sketch in Glasgow just makes it that little bit better.

Anyway Mel Gibson's Australian - Pommy baiting is practically a national sport so it's not really an unknown reason although being perfectly fair it could just be that he hates everyone now and there's no special provision made for the English.

//edit and I see that naffa's just posted it above. :)

hahaha awesome video. For me the worst thing is that some people will actually believe that it contains actual historical fact beyond the characters portrayed in it having existed.

To mark St. Andrew's Day, I suppose. It doesn't say much about the state of Scottish culture that the suggested method of celebrating our national day is to watch an awful Hollywood film starring an equally awful Australian schmuck.

Sums it up for me. Horrible film and Mel Gibson well yeah Mel Gibson tbh....

If you know the real stuff then it might be a bit awkward to watch as you will be constantly picking on the bad inaccuracies but as a general entertainment film to turn off the brain and watch for what it is then imo its still a good watch.

I turned it on to see Mel Gibson get his guts spilled and then turned it off.

Great film imo.
