***The Official Gran Turismo 5 Thread***

How can i select previously bought tires? Currently got snow tires, but when i go back in to tuning, it shows my sport ones, just doesnt allow me to reselect them. Any ideas please folks? Thanks :)

It's in the driving options (The menu to the left of the setup menu) where you can select your tyres for that race.

Edit: Posted twice, what a plank! :D

Just noticed my car that vanished into the PSN land when i tried to send it to RP, gave me a network error, has returned by itself.

Not a clue, all I know is it was better than the gold time :p

My best margin so far has been about .2 seconds, but i'd imagine the margin is about 0.02-0.05 under the gold time, why?

Because ive been trying since Sunday to do it in Gold!

I think ive got like within hundreths of a second, just cant gold it!! :(

I have gold on all of them on B and A licence, except that one :o

I got gold on that by going hard in with oversteer. I was trying to be too neat and tidy, but golded it after a few tries of flicking it hard in to the first left bend with a bit of oversteer corrected into the bend right. Try it out see if it helps.

Recommend a car for the 'Gran Turismo All Stars' event?

Also, anyone got anything I can use for the 'Historic Racing Car' series? Used dealership has been a no go.

Someone mentioned doing it in a fully upgraded Chevrolet Corvette ZR-1 which you can get from the Dealers. Although it won't be cheap.

I expect it is also doable in the Zonda you get from B-Spec or the dealers. Although I have that car, I've not attempted All Stars, but it does seem capable, just my lack of skill letting me down in some races.

Yeah. Depending on how you can handle the Zonda R(it's a bit of a beast especially tuned), might struggle a bit on All Stars, since there is usually an AI Minolta in the race...something like 980bhp and 900kg. Probably best to do Like the Wind with the ZR1 to unlock the Minolta for the All Stars. Like you say the ZR1 race modified does it pretty comfortably with max downforce. Will set you back 700k ish though. Just make sure to set the ZR1's gears to at least 240 mph for the oval track with max downforce. And remember to Race Modify it before you add extra bhp.

I just golded all of the Seb Loeb Rally Challenges, and am now the "proud" owner of my first 3 Citroens (C3, C4 VTS and C4 WRC) :p

Quite pleased with myself :D

Just starting off the B-Spec Races. Using totally overkill cars whilst my driver is a bit of a newb.

Have you got any advice for these? Im awful at rallying and struggling with the level 16 challenges.

Picked up a copy today, only had a quick blast on it, mainly to see if my concern from Prologue was still there – pants handling (compared to Forza 2/3 btw), and although the handling does ‘feel’ better; it still seems to be under par with what I’ve experienced with the aforementioned racer :(

It does still look stunning though, although the Nascar race I did was disappointing, as the grid only had about 10-15 cars, but I guess with all the detail and what not, they’re going to have to make sacrifices elsewhere. Oh, and the in-car detail seems to have dropped a fair bit, but that may just be my own misguided observation.

Will persevere with it for now…

I can't get gold on the Level 16 Gravel Rally either.

However I can "cheat" on the Loeb challenges - I've got a Logitech Driving Force GT which has a little jog dial to adjust TC settings and the like on the fly, and I can use it to set it to 50:50 torque distribution, which I found helps a lot.

A wheel is more fun anyway, so go on, you know you want to ;) :p

Would you recommend the Logitech Driving Force GT? Tempted to get a wheel, although it may mean plugging my PS3 into my Dell monitor due to the room layout.

I sent Killswitch87 a 240GLT because I accidently mashed his car. Now it's gone into PSN land. Weird that as I've never had problems sending cars before.
