I have a contract with vodaphone which has 1 month left on it.
Vodaphone have offered me, for 25 quid a month, 1200 x-net mins, 3000 SMS,
1 gb data - 12 month contract with a choice of desire z or BB torch. I already
have a desire and bold 9700 (os6). What would you get ?

Any ideas when the new Google nexus is out in the uk ?

You should know which one you would get if you have a 9700 Bold and a Desire.

The Desire Z is basically a slightly better Desire with a keyboard.

I'd personally get the Desire Z due to the better web experience and Android.

There is no confirmed announcement or date yet for the new Google Nexus S/2/whatever its called. It is likely to be available around February though.

I'd leave Vodafone though, because they're bad. :p

BB Torch...im sorry but the web browser on the torch is just as if not better than the Android and iphone browsers...only thing you lose is the screen size as its not that big.

Ive had my torch since end of Oct of this yr and i absolutely love it to bits...its got its quirks but none of them have put me off...sometimes the screen orientation is a bit too sensitive but there are apps that lock the homescreen to portrait.

Keyboard is just as good as the 9700, which i also had till i sold it a few weeks ago. Touchscreen is fine on the torch...some people say it lags when making swipe gestures but tbh i havent noticed the lag all that much.

Only thing i dont like about the torch is the touchscreen keyboard is far too small and cramped for my liking but then i hardly ever use it...i prefer sliding the keyboard out and the phone is nicely balanced when the keyboard is slid out...its not top heavy.

The web browser on the Torch actually looks decent, but the resolution of the screen puts me off and ruins it to a degree.

If I needed a phone with phone features as a priority I'd probably give one a try but it would be a complete waste of time for me personally at the moment.

DesireZ definitely, we have had the Torch at work for some months and it's simply not that great.

Nice combo that, keep them and wait for the next batch of superphones next year.

or if you can't wait...

Desire Z if your looking to have just one phone, otherwise replace the 9700 with a torch.

I do like the look of the Torch, seems to be the ideal form-factor - nice big(ish) touchscreen, and a slide-out keyboard, which, unlike those of side-sliders, is perfect for using one-handed (which I'd love to be able to do again, I often need to call someone or type a text message while carrying stuff in one hand!). In the end I decided to go for Android (so I'll prob be ordering the Z tomorrow), but it was a close call :)

Desire, we have far to many Blackberry issues - hardware failures and software issues to recommend then to anybody I did not hate :D

Desire, obviously.

Silly Spawn. So clueless. :p

Even Crackberry had to admit that it's not as good.

In my opinion of course perhaps i should have put that in my post but meh i didnt, get over it...but for me the BB browser on the torch is better than what i have used on the Android and iphone....IN MY OPINION...silly silly boy and i dont really give a toss what crackberry or others say....some people like the new browser and some dont...each to their own.

Sadly the Desires battery does suck balls, biggest letdown of the phone IMO.

I was making a similer decision between Desire HD and Torch - I picked the Desire simply because the whole OS and everything looked better and it looks like the kinda thing that'll let you mess with it more. :D

So, in your opinion, why is does the Torch have a better browser than the iP4 or Desire? :)

Is that why you and your signature tell people to go to crackberry.com ?

Faster and quicker at rendering pages...only drawback is the screen size but i can live with that. Sure you wont agree but then thats the beauty of discussing things....we all have different opinions.

I only tell people to go there if they need help with their BB's or want to find out more info...like this place people there have different opinions on different things....some people dont like the Torch and yet some people love it....i happen to live mine, its the best BB device ive used and is getting better and better with the OS updates.

I dont tell people to go there to form opinions although you can do by reading stuff on there...id rather people make up their own opinions preferably if they have used the devices themselves...no point in slating something when you havent even seen one in the flesh so to speak. Its why i usually when recommending BB's say to people on here and in real life to actually go and try the phone out before making a decision because clearly the BB's arent suited to all people...much like the Android, which is why i wouldnt touch another one with a bargepole...they do absolutely FA for me.

Anyhow im done internet arguing with you....as for the OP, only advice i can give is to try both devices out in the flesh...what one persons cup of tea is may not be your cup of tea:)...from there im sure you will be able to figure out which device is best for you.

But I have demonstrated to you that it is not "faster and quicker". I don’t have to agree or disagree with you.
It is not a matter of opinion, it’s a fact.
Another drawback of the browser is that it does not support Flash. Surely you must know this?
You shouldn’t mislead people like this.

So, in your opinion, the only thing that makes the Torch better than the Desire Z is the supposedly faster browser (which is obviously incorrect)? Thats all you can come up with?
Anyhow im done internet arguing with you...

Why? You should stand by what you say or admit that you are wrong.
