***The Official Gran Turismo 5 Thread***

I got it last weekend, spent the Sunday playing at a friends on his wheel, good fun.

A couple of quibbles from me;
- Really ugly menus/graphics.
- Really annoying music, GT Auto anyone? (glad I can put my own in in race).
- Graphics for the most part are good (some terrible square looking flickery shadows and car internals) but are they meant to be a step up from Prologue?

All that said I'm still enjoying it, so much to do! Karting is hilarious!

Also what is the point of B-Spec? I tried a few races in a semi-pimped Civic, left it on overtake and won every race I entered without any input...
 
Struggling with the Elise Top Gear challenge. I consider myself "pretty good" at these sort of games with a long history of GPL, LFS and rFactor action. I have a G25 bolted to a B&Q workbench and can pretty much blitz the rest of the game including gold licenses etc.

For some reason I just cannot do this challenge. I've got close, but more through luck than judgement. It just doesn't feel right, I find myself having to do the opposite of what my brain is telling me in order to keep the car on the track.

Tips welcome.
 
Well I found part of the problem with this bloody Like the Wind Superspeedway Indy. It appears after you Race modify a car it disables most of its upgrades, which is pretty silly. So the ECU, Intake, Exhaust CC and Manifold, Super Charger were all set to the stock parts... :rolleyes:

However even with those upgrades I'm still struggling with my ZR1. Nearly won it a minute ago but right at the last moment they all boxed round me and I couldn't do anything so came 6th instead of 1st! :rolleyes: :mad:

Any tips for setting up the ZR1 RM? I have max downforce both front and rear. Gear Ratio is set at 249 Max Speed. The LSD, Brakes, Suspension are all set to default settings.

I'm glad I found this out now.

That is ridiculous though. You spend over 100k on race modifying it and you lose all your mods!
 
Turn on the grip control, max downforce, max gear ratio, easayyyy.

I assume you've done all the upgrades after race modifcation too as you can get the car up to 870bhp or so.
 
It does warn you when you attempt to race mod it :confused:

It does? must have skipped past that too fast! Doh! Still it is a stupid setup, they should be installed as standard with the Race modifications. Ah well, still can't complete it.... :mad:

Grip control? Where is that? But yes everything else is upgraded or setup as I decribed. I tried max gear ratio by setting the top speed to its highest but lost too much acceleration. Guess I should just keep at it.

Something isnt right...... Network features arent working!?!?!
