Call of Duty: Black Ops

Was just playing domination and happened to have nuketown come up. Surely nuketown shoudn't be a domination map?! It was a complete spam fest and I quit out of it sharpish :\

edit: Ohhh Windows Update decided to download Live Essentials 2011 (160mb) without telling me, apparently its an important update and therefore downloads automatically, no wonder!

Anyone had connection problems on black ops. Was playing Mp on ps3 last week no problem, switch on last night and today and its says the server is not available - checked and there is no problems at www.callofduty/blackops/status - anyone any ideas? Zombies is working fine, its the actual trying to get into mp, just states "connecting" and then asks me to check server status

Issues Addressed:
* • Resolved several issues with parties getting disbanded unexpectedly.
* • Updated handling for UPnP-enabled routers to improve matchmaking conditions where users had strict or moderate NAT types. Also added in-game communications so that all players are aware of their NAT type in the Player Match party lobby.
* • Addressed issue that prevented the “Load MP by Default” option from saving when other specific option combinations were set.
* • Prevention of exploit that allowed players to keep custom classes and killstreaks after prestige.
* • Addressed an issue where Flak Jacket Pro would not always protect against ground fires left by Napalm Strikes.
* • Prevention of users losing their killstreak reward when switching classes at the start of a new round in round-based game modes.
* • Addressed an issue where the incorrect perks would appear when spectating another player under certain circumstances.
* • Added round start explosive delay to China Lake grenade launcher to give it the same round start limitations as other explosives.
* • Contracts will now reset when the player Prestiges.
* • Prevention of Valkyrie rocket exploding upon release under rare conditions.
* • Prevention of Gunship failing to give player full control under rare conditions.
* • Prevention of an issue where a player will get teleported outside the map boundaries under very specific circumstances.
* • Additional security measures to enhance detection and banning capabilities.

Gameplay Tuning:
* • Limit the ability to re-roll supply drops using Hardline Pro to Care Packages only, no other killstreak drops.
* • Added a negative influencer to all spawn points to decrease the chances of spawning near an enemy. This will further improve spawning protection on top of previous updates.
* • Additional sound mix tuning for Ninja Pro users – increased ranges and volume of enemy footsteps, and removed player footstep sounds on concrete material types.
* • Increased headshot multipliers for sniper rifles. Sniper rifles with suppressors equipped will now always be ensured one-shot kill headshots.
* • Subtle increase in sniper rifle accuracy when scoping in.
* • Added a render delay to the red diamond player indicators that appear when controlling the Gunship, Valkyrie Rocket and Chopper Gunner. When a player first spawns, this will not appear for a period of time.
* • Additional minor reductions in knife lunge.

Next TU info - I knew they would patch the Hardline spam, as it's a pita and Oneshot - looks like you'r China Lake spawn tube days are over lol

At least treyarch are trying to sort problems out.
 
Patch details sound good. But as it is only in phase 3 then we have a week for it to be approved but ps3/xbox then another couple of days for the patch to be released. So it's going to at least be two more weeks before we see this patch. :(

But it does look like it addresses all the issues I have with the game which are all group based dropouts.

And that's what I've been saying on here since WaW came out. Treyarch are far better than infinity ward. Treyarch haven't dumped a broken game to then just be interested in a couple of map packs leaving the Jtaggers free to run riot.

They are constantly updating and improving.

They are listening to what the people want and coming up with improvements of their own. The red diamond delay is a great addition and should allow you to take out air support even easier. There will be no need at all to even bother with the chopper gunner and gunship ks unless they come in a care package because they shouldn't last long.

I knew they would patch out the care package issue but tbh I will still use those 3 as my killstreaks because I have found a new love for the sentry and the sam turret is awesome.

Infinity Ward can never make another COD as far as I care.
 
What I'm impressed with is how treyarch managed to back track on some of the poor design choices IW made. So they still produced a more well balanced competitive game while providing just enough of the bells and whistles that a lot of people would expect after MW2. Very clever of them to move backwards while appearing to progress the series. I thought we'd all be flying around on chocolate dildos firing laser beams at each other if following on from MW2 was what they were intending to do.

Glad they didnt.

I said on the first day that this is my fav COD ever (missed COD 4 at the time) and its still very true. Very little annoys me....very un-COD like :D

I'm finding a lot of love for the flak jacket now it's protecting me from those rcxds. Very satisfying having someone drive one at you and not kill you :D

It's amazing on demo as well as people just lob a grenade when you are planting or defusing.

Just got flak jacket, mask and last stand to finish off then I have all the pro perks!

Yeah sentry gun and sam turret is great. Sam gets you so much XP on say ground war.

What I found useful was looking at kill streaks used and kills by said kill streaks. I was able to workout that attack helicopter only netted me just over 2 kills per each called in which is quite close to my napalms. And that kills via chopper gunner was massively higher for me then dogs.

Some times when playing on my own I can get a little selfish on team games so I usually set-up something like UAV, Sam and black bird. That way if I go on a killstreak at the expense of the objective I can call all that lot in on domination then throw myself on the objectives.
