Hi, I've got an OCZ Vertex LE 100GB SSD that I bought when they were on sale, I fitted it in my laptop and it seems to sometimes not boot into windows the first time, I have to take it out and reinsert it although I thought that could just be a dodgy connection and it keeps sliding back (it was a bit higher than the original hdd so I had to mod a couple of the plastic pieces around the mounting to get it to fit ;))

Have people been experiencing this error too? Is it just the connection or should I consider getting it replaced?

Thanks in advance

somtimes 8 month old LE wouldnt boot, tbh i think mine was more MB related as the boot device prioritys would change (some sort of bug i guess) so id have to enter bios to change it back, same thing happened last week but i couldnt get it to boot after changing the boot priority back.. then noticed the LE wasnt actually detected on the list of sata connections in the bios, phoned OCuK and got an RMA number but not sent it back just yet. i bought a 60gb vertex 2e so i could get my system back up while i sort the LE out,.. the 2e was detected straight away and the LE still wont get detected so i think its failed. gonna post mine back to OCuK this week to get them to test it

Be VERY interested to hear the outcome of this. As I've seen this "failed to detect SSD problem" a couple of times on the OCZ forum. Hope this isn't setting a trend. You would think as these have no moving parts etc. that they would be ultra reliable! Only time will tell I suppose if there is a long term reliability problem with this sort of storage medium. I rather hope not!

il post the test results for you :)

Does the latest firmware have anything in the release notes that might correct your issue?

Just had a look at the change log for the last couple of firmware releases and nothing along this line appears to have been addressed.

Happened to me on Dell XPS 1330 & 1530 although this issue is more common with Lenovo lappy. My WEI even gave me a 59 score which is supposedly given to mech HDD. I end putting an Intel SSD on both.

It has something to do with the mounting interface/connectors that does'nt fit perfectly.
