Drugged driver kills 8 cyclists in Southern Italy

utterly sickening.....i guess some people don't have a clue when it comes to driving, especially when you are physically unstable.
 
Well if he's trolling just suspend him. It's hard enough to pick up sarcasm in GD threads without idiots using it in a thread about 8 people getting killed which isn't really the place for it.
 
Drugs are a great scapegoat to absolve you of responsibility when you **** up. I have no problem with people taking whatever they like but they shouldnt drive under the influence and I dont care if you were hallucinating when you killed someone; you took the drugs and you take 100% of the consequences + some for your stupidity.

Its much like our plea bargain system. Once you are caught, say that you were on drugs and suddenly you need to be rehabilitated rather than imprisoned. Get caught for a crime you committed and plead guilty and you get a reduced sentence. Don't mention the fact you didn't hand yourself in, YOU WERE CAUGHT, as long as you know that you are going to get in more trouble if you dont play along and lie you are just fine.

Unfortunately idiots are idiots whether they are on drugs or not. This could have happened whether he was high or not and it does happen every day in the world. Drugs arn't bad, the people who take them determine what happens.
 
Anyone remember the episode of 5th gear where they got someone stoned and tested his driving. he did better stoned.

Tbh I doubt it helps but if I had to choose a drug to drive on it would be weed.

Im sorry but this is just not correct. Our judicial system means that in the event of being under the influence of drink or drugs, it offers no mitigation whatsoever, and in many cases will result in a stiffer sentance.

Reading that article again though, knowing cyclists, I bet they were riding side by side and sticking right out into the middle of the road as they like to do..

Still, the piece is a little short on the exact details.

I was going to say something similar, a Morrocan in Italy, they don't mention weather the car was stolen, if he was being persued, or if he had even ever held any kind of licence. It's a horrible tragedy and all, but it stinks of typical tabloid spin.
