Bitch gave birth today, pretty sure i'm not the dad.

Been giving them as much formula as we can but sometimes they'll feed for 20 minutes and the bottle doesn't actually go down. Think nature might have plans for the smaller ones in the litter. Birthing 10 with 8 survivors is a hell of a big litter for a first time mum.

Came into thread expecting rage and comments, pleasantly surprised!

Did you deliver all of these yourself SB? if so are you trained for this?

Good luck with it, looks like you've got your hands full for ages!

Tied off and cut two of the cords, apart from that mum did all the work.

That's pretty awesome mate, I would be terrified in that situation.

Also, my mind immediately thought of this penny-arcade comic:

Does that make me a bad person? Haha! :D

Is anyone else bothered by the "pretty sure"? Doesn't that mean the OP thinks there's a chance he's the dad?

Best trhead title of the year?

+1

good luck with them.
i see you are giving them formula, lactol ?
i have a really good recipe for home made puppy milk, that is way better than formula.
also have a good tip for puppies that are struggling to feed
it has saved us a few puppies down the years.
send a mesage in trust and you can have it.

Yes, using Lactol when needed.

All of them are still with us and gaining weight nicely.

ps, i hate the night shift :(

**** myself this morning, counted them (to check nobody was under mum being crushed) and only had 7. Panicked, moved mum around and they was nobody under her. Saw a lump under the heatmat, pulled it back and found the red collared pup. No signs of life, no movement, no breathing.

Brain fart, grabbed him and he was utterly limp, but still warm from the heatmat. Brain fart pt 2, i dropped him (don't like handling dead stuff), little bugger woke up and started crying for mum. Puppies sleep REALLY well!

Got the camera out for a vid but i could use a still image instead as they just sleep a lot right now.
