69xx pictures and pricing

(Not a go at you Jokestar!)Why would you be surprised if true? If it performs anything like the 580 it will be similar price, unless AMD wanted to try and bury Nvidia. It's the one thing I've been concerned about TBH.. is that anything close to te 580, or even beating will mean a high price, but that's the tech world, always in flux.

Our exchange rate still isn't helping though :-(

EDIT: Just read the link. They seem to think that is cheap, and will force prices to decrease. (I don't think it's cheap in the current economy).

Isn't the price stated on the source just a total speculation by mydrivers.com? I can't see where any confirmation came from, just looks like a leak of some photos to me.

EDIT: OK I see, it says suggested retail price, so RRP.

what did people expect?

6970 for £300????

2gb of ram alone will drastically bump up the price.

It will be the same price as 5870 2gb version when it came out 380-400£

Dont forget the 2.5% extra vat were going to have to swallow up somehow...

Oh they did, I've had many an arguement with members on here saying the card will be £300 like the 5870, in the same way I had arguements with members thinking the 5870 would £200.

But Gibbo have informed us of the pricing already?

BTW, 4000 yuan = $599, 300 yuan = $449. Looks legit but I would expect the prices to be lower.

There is A BIG GULF between RRP and REAL - STREET PRICE.

Real price of the 5870 was meant to be in the £299.
Street price was £310-340 in reality.

6870 was meant to be £170
It retails around £180-200

580GTX was meant to be £370
but its going on £380-440 ( except that complete and utter sham that was amazon.... )

Yeah just the other day though!

Estimated RRP would be known to anyone who can do basic maths, a little research on the launch pricing of the last generation and the current generation and have some brains to put it together.

I could get a 5870 for £299 at launch (some grabbed them for even less money, real pricing was meant to be approximately £280).

I can get a 6870 for £170 right now.

GTX580 could be had for £375 just a few days ago, it seems out of stock in most places now, though.
