The Ashes 2010-11: Australia v England ** spoilers **

Re : the injuries too - what do you expect setting 2 back to back Tests on obscenely flat batting tracks - very poor scheduling and ground preparation really.

Confirmed - Broad out of the ashes.
Aussie stream says they'r (England camp) concerned about some internal damage (???)

-edit-
And the ODI series too.

I was listening to talk sport today and they were going on about a poll that happened in Australia where a large percentage wanted Shane warne back in the team. I haven't watched much of this Australian side but if that's the case they must have a below average squad.

Wasn't confident a second a go, a very early wicket is key and we had a drop. You could tell/hear? it even in normal motion.

That's a big wicket to fall, come on England. Weird, I'm Indian by genes but I support the England cricket team more than the England football team. :o

You don't think a innings defeat would be particularly crushing? Because that's what you predicted.

Whoa, bait and switch!

Yes, an innings defeat would be crushing, and that's what I predicted. No argument there. My point is that I didn't predict a crushing England victory for the entire series.

As for my "beef", there is none. I thought I made my point pretty clear. You've managed to find a cunning way of being both pessimistic about your team's chances, AND demeaning to whatever England manage. It's inspired.

But I'm not being demeaning about England. On the contrary, I have repeatedly complimented England's performance.

Other people on this thread have also said that Australia's squad is not at full strength, yet you have no criticism for them. It seems you just want an excuse to bash me. Apparently I'm allowed to say England is playing well, yet I'm not allowed to say that Australia is performing badly, and I'm not allowed to say that Australia's team is not as strong as it used to be, because this "demeans England." Or something.

There's no doubt in my mind that the aussie squad is weaker now then it was a few years ago, but you must give credit to England too.

Yes, absolutely.

By the sounds of Aggers the weather is sounding a bit ropey. Come on England. Anyone else not confident though?

Weather conditions look good for swing bowling, which should suit England very well. Current forecast:

A morning shower, increasing to showers and a thunderstorm during the afternoon and evening. Warm to hot with moderate northeast to northerly winds and a light to moderate southwest afternoon sea breeze. Showers from midday.

Temperature will be up to 32°C.

Now that Hussey's gone, the wickets should fall rapidly. Great news about Broad, though.
