***The Official Gran Turismo 5 Thread***

I think that you HAVE to do the championship, doing individual races does not unlock anything (but don't come and shoot me)

Correct, and VERY annoying. I tried it the other day on a 3 race series and you have to do the actual championship to get the prize car.

If you finish first on each individual race you only have to finish first overall in the championship for the prize.

This was not what I wanted to hear

I can easily win all the races once I get underway, it just takes 10 goes to get a clean start for each race, and survive the first corner :(

OMG! just triied out the Lexus LFA and that has to be my favourite car so far - the stock noise of that V10 is beautiful - there was me wondering why the hell do all the cars sound like hairdryers...i'm a happy boy know.

I am miffed that gt5 IS missing a fair few tracks from GT3, Ive forgotten the names but i can think of 3 good ones which i hope will be DLC. i DONT UNDERSTAND WHY THEY LEFT THEM OUT!

Anywasy after about 15 hours of playing this game i'm finally stating to love GT5 like i did the previous GT games.

Try just calming down and not trying to win it on the first lap/corner :p

Have you tried it? ;) The AI is still on rails, and you're in an insanely twitchy car - Leading from the front it the only way :)

I need a supervisor to watch me play and stop me from doing silly things... Like spending nearly 200k on modding an '88 Volvo 240 Estate...

Wow, big update file size, will wait to see what improvements have been made i guess ;)

Ah bllx, theres a ps3 update too !!

Getting annoyed with the A-Spec Expert Historic Championship, managed 4-5 in my fully modded Lambo LP400, a decent 3rd in both races using the again fully modded Corvette... Ive also tried fully tuning my Cobra 427 '66 and i cannot even manage a lap without spinning.

From reading these and other forums, it seems the Lambo is the best bet, get in front into the first couple of corners and then block for 5 laps. This is more frustrating than the Camper Van challenge.

Seriously guys you should just try the Dodge Challenger race modified and then tuned further. Monaco is laughably easy, if you're in the lead after the first bend then you just automatically win due to the CPU's inability to pass anywhere on this track. Deep Forest is slightly harder but it took me three tries at the most, which was when I realised if you just push the Toyota 7 off he never recovers. The Countach when I had it was terrible, not to mention the fact you can't race modify it. Failing that someone could lend you a Chaparral.

What is the car delivery tickets for? I've got a lvl5 one too. Are they just free cars? Long winded way of claiming them.

finally getting past the intial slow start that comes along with the GT series.

nearly enough cash to get my first ferrari and then hopefully open up a world of more challenging races

the only thing that is currently bothering me is there seems to be a limited number of events or do more unlock as you progress other then the 9 of each beginner - expert a spec races and the specials... i.e endurance, and manufacturer/model specific cars other then the ones in the general a spec section.

admitadly im only A lvl 15 and B lvl 1 as ive not had much time to play but i dont want to want more races and just be stuck repeating old ones or trying to gold licences or such

If you cant do the race with the cars people have mentioned then the only other option is to spend money on a used chaparral or toyota 7 race car from the used car dealership or even do tons of b-spec and get your driver to win like the wind and you get the toyota race car as a prize .

I love you. :p

Both events were so easy with that car, dread to think what will happen when my donut of a B-Spec driver has to do them though.

If your drivers still is high enough and you dont constantly keep him in the red he/she will be just fine!
