Wikileaks - latest leak

Should we be enforcing a potentially politically motivated arrest warrant though?
You said it yourself - 'potential'.

The point of a judiciary is to judge whether the charges are warranted or not. This process doesn't begin with the police.

The question is - would Sweden go through all this trouble for a potential rapist that they've turned down before that wasn't the enemy of everyone in the ruling classes that has something to hide?

To quote rypt,

Because I was that girl!

The Swedish judicial system is odd. But I guess it is in the public interest to pursue the matter. He could be found innocent after all, thus clearing his name and embarassing his enemies.

I can't see Swedens motive really. They've not been implicated in many if any of the leaks, it's not really anything to do with them.

I suspect a genuine allegation has been made against him and it's not a conspiracy at all. The validity of the allegation is another matter entirely.

yeah i agree we should just not investigate rape charges on famous or controversial figures.

Like football players as it's clearly just money grabbing or a big plot.

It's not like rape is serious or anything is it....

Oh god, don't start that. So we need a team investigating the guy investing the ruling classes? Who keeps them in check? Would be so much easier if everyone looked out for everyone else.

My head hurts, i'm going to watch TV.

IS it genuine if say US gov. have paid or somehow else interfered to get the women to make the allegations?

Thats not really anything to do with the Swedish government, and you'd hope that if this was the case, it would come out in court.

I doubt any government is involved in this.

People are forgetting who stands to gain the most from a falsified rape charge entangled within an international judiciary conspiracy: the lizardmen.

Can't it just be that the guy is an idealist but also overly amorous with ladyfolk?

But what about the fact that it was thrown out of court once before?

So you want to just ignore warrants, or perhaps we should do what we do in every case, if it meets certain criteria they are arrested, they can then appeal and a uk court will make a verdict on the warrant and any otger circumstances.

Why would or should it just be ignored.

yes it's a genuine allegation as far as the police are concerned and must be investigated.

Police can investigate without arresting or charging him though

I'm not saying he should not be arrested, I'm merely saying UK needs to play this one carefully to ensure that we are being fair and that
a) the charges are not politically motivated
b) there is some real basis to the charges
c) he will get a fair trial in Sweden (afaik they have no jury for rape trials)
