Beaten Labrador puppy caught on CCTV!

What an utter coward. Glad he's been named & shamed, hopefully in four years time people will still remember what he did & not sell him any pets!

I read the article but I'm not watching the video. The guy is a lunatic and needs sectioning. What a scumbag.

The good news is that his life at university is over, at least socially.

On one hand I agree, but I'm sure there was a study that said that people who are violent to animals are often later violent to humans. If he has a temper that volatile then he might actually be a danger to other people (which is what jail is supposed to prevent)

I can't believe he would seriously got back to Uni after this :D sooner or later somebody is going to hunt him down and let him know what a bad day really feels like.

If only my keyboard was wireless :(

yes and studies show that people who play violent computer games are all psychotic nutjobs who will go on a gun toting rampage in down town <enter city name here> on a bloody orgy of murder rape and pillage.

Like helmet said 'it'll get over it'

and to the person who said it was up there with child abuse... good god get a life, no its no where near up there with child abuse

Look at the fear and sadness in that dog's eyes, if it was a human they'd be locked up!.

Oh, so it's alright then.
Not as bad as child abuse and all will be ok in the end.

HEY GUYS, just let the little scrote walk free, Wildman said it's ok!!

It's NOT ok, he's performed a serious act of abuse on a animal.
If you think that's quite alright then there is something wrong with you.

I think generally people are all too quick to call "lock him up!" without actually thinking about it.

He was severely punished, and the dog is now fine. Is there really a need to (on top of everything else) cost us taxpayers money by sending him to prison?

He was fined, had to do 250 hours unpaid work, got himself a criminal record, and sounds like he's getting kicked of his uni course. So considering the dog is doing ok now, isn't that enough?

I'm certainly not defending what he did, btw. But I think people should typically think a bit harder before crying "omg prison nao!".

£1000 fine which im sure his daddy will pay..

shoplifters get worse but he gets pretty much let off because of hsi background..

equal punishment please anyoine from a poor background probably would be inside for 6months

you need to get out more mate

I didn't say its ok,but I am saying you all need to put things in perspective. battering a dog is no where near the same league as child abuse. If you think it is then as I said you need to get out more mate

It's odd how I can watch people getting beaten senseless, but yet I can't watch animals getting hurt. Poor door. I'd have her.

Haha don't assume because I'm on a computer forum that I don't get out, mate.

It's very similar, both are pretty much defenseless.

I think it has much to do with desensitisation. I was brought up with beatings on TV, the good guys giving the bad guys a darn good hiding & sometimes vice versa.

Comics, computer games & movies are full of violence but contain practically no violence towards animals.

I remember watching some footage of some poor man getting beheaded by fundamentalists & thinking "yep, that's probably the most disturbing thing I have ever watched". Then I calmly went & ate my dinner

Cruelty to animals (same with cruelty to children) on the other hand affects me quite differently. I don't just get angry I get filled with rage & tbh I often avoid looking at articles like this Daily Mail one (though I did in this instance) as I tend to dwell on them afterwards.

Of course the dog will be mentally ok. It's a dog. A primitive beast. What happened to it shouldn't have happened, there was no natural purpose in it. Killing it for consumption would have made more sense. But then we don't need to consume dogs due to other, more abundant food sources.
