Looking at spending a few quid on the bmw's replacement and wanted to hear anybodies experiences with either.

Thanks

Never heard a back word about Mountune, planning on getting their new 200bhp kit for the Fiesta ST when it comes out :)

They have a rather long pedigree in motorsport and the backing of the manufacturer which says something to me.

Mountune it to be honest. DS maps give more power but Mountune give better driveability (apparently). Depends how much you want to do. If you want to fully modify it then maybe DS would be better.

Was looking at a fmic, turbo back exhaust and remap. Pretty generic route i think for most ST's. Ive read on t'internet that the turbo is only good for 260BHP, not sure where i read it though.

can get all of that from mountune. The turbo seems to be good for about 280-300, after that people start fitting different turbo's.

Mountunes 260 package + the exhaust should ease upto 270ish. How old is the car?

If you're going to keep it, the Mountune is definitely worth the money IMO, far better development has gone into it and the way it makes useful power rather than pub figures keeps other tuners' "300bhp" kits at bay.

Was kind of heading that way but, read so many different opinions from people who say x or y package is better and its starting to get a little confusing.

Mountune you can do in stages iirc

No, Mountune is a single stage- A remap, intercooler and maybe downpipe IIRC. I think it is about £1200 from participating Ford dealers.

They claim 260bhp, but in reality many make around 280 on the rollers. But like I said, the important thing is the power delivery and where the usable power is - this is why they keep up with or even out do 300bhp STs.

It is worth looking at their cat-back exhaust as well. There are no power gains to be had, I had one on mine, and would definitely recommend it :) They look much better, too :)
