***The Official Gran Turismo 5 Thread***

Fair point.

I need something for the FF race, but 100k for just one race is a bit much.

The M3 is FR ;)

If you need something for the FR race and New Corvette ZR1 will come in use later. Use it stock, then race modify it when you can afford it (Race Modifying a car removes all its upgrades )

Yeah that's what I'm trying to do, find cars which will come in use later aswell. I'll keep a look out for the Corvette then.

I wasted 50k on an old Alfa to do the Euro Classics race with (it turned out be rubbish, didn't win any races) so now I've become hesitant when buying cars :p

The ZR1 is new, you won't find it used (Premium cars, ie the new dealership ones with interior views, don't show up in the used market :) )

Ah cheers :)

Was just leading the whole way through the intermediate kart race, got to the last corner and spun out!

I bought a Vanquish hoping after taking all the weight reduction mods would drop it to 1200kg, was a waste of over 150k only dropped it to 1400kg :(, so got a tvr instead and won a tvr for the race :(

I just race modified a susuki cuppacino for the lightweight k cup absolutely lovely fun thing to drive.

i also just wasted about 400k upgrading a rx7 which handles like a bag of poo:rolleyes: nothing like how they were in gt4 even gave it a rear spoiler with maximum downforce maybe 600hp is too much for it

hey guys. just wondering. Havent really touched b spec yet. On level 17 at mo in a spec and loving it but cant stand b spec. seems like a waste of time and find it really monotonous.

was just wondering, what do you actually gain by increasing your b spec level. Any cars worth trying for. Will it effect my progress through the game generally?
Will it effect my ability to get the x1 prototype etc?

Surprised no one has answered this for you!

It is definitely worth levelling it up. Not just because you can leave the game running in the background to earn you credits whilst you look at pron online, but there are also some handy cars available for you to win. Like the Wind for example wins you the Toyota 7 Race Car.

Its painful in the early stages. I vowed in this very thread never to touch it again, but once your driver progresses you do notice the improvement in his driving style. He still has the ability to frustrate, but I've mellowed out with him :p

One tip I'd have with B-Spec is in the early days, when the car you've given him is SO much better than the competitions, you can tell him to reduce his speed more to keep his coolness level down. Even a reduced speed is faster than the rest of the competition. Then when he's levelled up a bit, put him back in the harder events e.g. the Yaris one.

Has anyone got a pickup they could lend me please? Sick of waiting for one to come up and it's the last race of Amateur I've got to do. Thanks :)

Anyone else think that sell price for your cars are shocking? Bought an Alfa for 60k to do the Italian Race, realised it was slow as hell so used my Lambo 670-4 Sv instead (was pretty easy :p) and I could only sell the Alfa for 19k?! Had like 2miles on the clock :p

Its shocking yes, an Alfa would have lost more money in depreciation in real life :p :D

Anyone got anything they can lend me for the British lightweight in B spec ( I think it's in the Amateur or beginner section? I sold my Elise 11R when I completed A spec because I didn't think I would need it again (idiot I am)

Oh and ck88 done with your lambo cheers for that, if you could tell me your PSN so I can return it :).

Just not sure if can be arsed to get into it, and so frustrating you have to do it all in real time.
