My Blue-Ray player won't work... when I put in a disk, it says "LOAd" then (sometimes "In It" (or 1n 1t) then "b d"

then it says PLAY and the numbers start to go round.... but nothing comes up on the Telly. I thought it might have been the HDMI cable so bought a new one... now I don't know if this was luck or what but seemed to fix it this one time.... then the next time it was the same problem again....

then I realised that when I turn off the blu-ray player and turned it back on the TV says "Blu-ray Disc starting up" and has the blu-ray symbol on the screne but then the screne goes black and the telly says "NO Signal" again.....

Does anyone know why it won't work? is it the telly or the Blu-ray player???

Thanks for your help xx

Hi there,

May I ask what the make and model number of the Blu-ray player and the TV are?

Also, what blu-ray disk are you trying to play and what region does it say on the back of the blu-ray box?

Would you be able to tell us the model numbers of the TV and Blu-Ray player? This will allow us to look up manuals and common faults.

My first inkling is that the TV is not set to the correct "HDMI" or "AV" station to view the Blu-ray player output.

Do you have any other HDMI devices (perhaps a laptop) that you can test with the TV to see if the TV can display video from a HDMI input correctly?

As it is from Lovefilm you shouldn't have any issues with region.

TV is an LG and I think the model no. is:
FLATRONM227WDP-PZ

Blu-ray player is FOEHN&HIRSCH and I think the model no. is:
BD2101

I could get the playstation and try it later but i think if I went and unplugged it right now my fiance might shoot me... :(

Well that TV does seem to be HDCP compatible - so that won't be the issue.

Have you tried simply pressing the "input" button on the right hand side (top button)? If it asks for an input selection, you want HDMI (make sure the Blu ray player is on when you do this).

yeah did that - it used to work... :( boo I wanted to watch a chick flick in the bedroom that my fiancé won't wanna watch :( stoopid boys :(

If he isn't still playing on the playstation (presumably PS3) you could throw the disk in that and play it through the PS3.

As for getting the TV + Blu-ray player to I would first try plugging in a HDMI device (Ps3 will work) into the TV and see if you can get it to display correctly. Also, you can try plugging the Blu-ray player into a HDMI TV or monitor and see if it displays correctly.

If one doesn't work then you have identified the source of the problem, if both worth then it is a problem with configuration.
