***The Official Gran Turismo 5 Thread***

burried in this thread somewhere yes :) Failing that if you look up the offical list online and use ctrl + F, all the cars that can be race modified have an RM at the end of their name. For example on the list there is the TVR Tuscan and the TVR Tuscan RM, indicating if you buy a Tuscan you can race modify it :) There should be about 20 cars

oh btw which calsonic are u sending me

# P Nissan Calsonic IMPUL GT-R (SUPER GT) ‘08

I didn't realise there was more than one  Mines a '93 R32 based car, but I'm sure I could rustle up an '08

I'll stick it in a race and take a photo so you can see :)

So what's the ultimate car on this one then? Also, why are there very few (I haven't actgually found any yet) reviews that contain feedback from the 24 hour races yet? If I wasn't still hooked on MW2 I'd have at least unlocked them by now.

Whaaaaaat!

I just spent around 70k buying a Cuda 440 Six Pack 71' and supercharged it giving 550bhp and it's still slow. It has a top speed 120mph and just about won a race with a Crossfire right on tail!

I wanted to do the A-spec classic super car and muscle car challenge with. Looks like I just wasted all that money.

Spec it a fully customisable racing transmission, tune that to give it a high top speed

I had a fully specced EK9 bar RM. I RM'd it, my upgrades did disappear but if you go into tuning and you can put them all on again!

Fully custom gearbox hasn't made a difference either. I maxed it and the top speed is still 120, oh well atleast I managed to win the Beginners FR with it.

Probably one of the Le Mans cars with an additional bit of engine tuning or a turbo/supercharger bolted on. Or one of the Ferrari's/Polyphony F1 cars.

You're not doing it right. You have to go into the car options and alter the top speed. All the fully customizable box does is let you alter the top speed, it doesn't automatically set it for you, you have to do that yourself.

Did you actually adjust the gearing after fitting? Go into the settings before the race, select the gearbox and move the slider up to ~160 and that should be your knew top speed. Failing that your car is rubbish :p

I did. I went to the Garage > Tuning > Transmission and then set the top speed to 249 which is max.

I'm convinced you're not doing something right, even a Mazda Demio can go faster than 120MPH and that's without the custom gearbox. :p

Expect it should be an Audi R10

And LOL if that guy hasnt tweaked gearing after buying the fully customised gearbox :p

ps3ud0

:D

I'll have to save for the Ferrari F1 car, no idea how fast that will be around some of the tracks but it should be nigh on unbeatable in the corners around most circuits.

But your gears will be soooo long that acceleration will be so poor youll never get to vMax - alter it to your desired top speed and to specific track layout...
