Cage against the Machine for 2010 number one.

This was doomed to fail in its second year. Too many people thinking "wouldn't it be even funnier if <insert band here> beat x-factor?!".

I'm sure simon is hoping there will be another big campaign. Last year meant a huge boost to the sales of the x-factor single even if it came second. Do you really think he cares who gets it, as long as the sales for his goes well.

i dont think it is done to stop simon cowell geting money, i think its done to stop everyone thinking winning the x factor means you deserve a number1 song.

I really dont understand why people get so worked up about the christmas number one anyway. So thats the record thats sold the most. Who gives a flying fish??

Buy the music that you like, and if you dont like the pop machine's latest delivery off the production line, simply dont listen to it!

PK!

Exactly, isn't is mostly 12 year old girls who care the most about the top 40 singles chart anyway, majority of the music I listen to has never even charted before, lol.

it's like trying to recreate a great night out .... it just happens and won't happen if you try to "make" it happen.

I know of at least 4 facebook campaigns started by people who tbh are just trying to seek their own 15 minutes of fame

Oh the ironing :p

This is getting stupid, whats the point in having 3 mins of silence. At least if your going to go down this route pick a classic song, done by proper singers and musicians.

This year I'll support Matt Cardle as he is a decent writer and I was impressed by his song 'When We Collide'.

Good on him.
