HDNL have to be one of the worst delivery companies I've ever dealt with.

First of all a delivery due 2 weeks ago never arrived and was told that I'd have to pick it up if I ever wanted it see it soon! I live in the South so snow had melted by then...

Second package due last Wednesday arrived today but I wasn't in so the delivery driver left it behind my gate. Nothing wrong there you ask, well..

My gate and fence are pretty high, so instead of leaving it with a neighbour the only way the package ended up behind the gate was that the Delivery driver had lobbed it over my fence. Thus the contents inside the package were smashed to tiny pieces!

Luckily it was nothing too expensive, if you have any valuable deliveries due with HDNL soon make sure you lay bubble wrap everywhere around your boundary lines, you never know where yours goods will land. :p

Rant over.

you do realise that the cold spell that lasted 2 weeks have put a massive back log on the delivery companies? Just because the snow has melted now it doesn't mean they have yet caught up.

As for the company, I can't comment as i've never used them

And the means they can lob parcels over tall fences and tell my the only way to get my stuff is pick it up, despite it being 2 weeks ago with no contact?

They have done that with me too. They have also left packages under my car on the drive as well as in the recycling crate which was on the doorstep in full view of the pavement. Oh, they also dropped a new ipod into the wheelie bin which was full of water due to the lid having been left open.

They are the most unprofessional outfit I've ever encountered. They ignore all complaints too.

I had a package delivered by them also, apparently it had been delivered and left in a secure location at the front of the house which is directly on a main road... Several days later a neighbour knocked on the door saying that they had found my package on the roadside. Outside an empty house, package completely soaked :(

Yes they are junk,

still got my hoover and my 3rd bad experience with them, I will never buy from anyone who uses them EVER AGAIN.......

To be honest, they make it so easy to commit fraud by saying you never received it I know a few people who have made use of this.

What do you expect? They are basically DHL drivers, who are absolute morons.

This is also the flip side of a company who doesnt have to leave cards, they will simply leave your goods no matter what the weather.

Who are these guys and where have they suddenly come from? I don't understand how a new nationwide delivery company can just pop up out of nowhere. City Link did the same thing. Or is it them?

Only had something delivered by them once and they were pretty crap. I thought their card was a potential scam, it was that unprofessional looking.

No, not citylink. This is the Home Delivery Network Ltd. I think they get people off the street to sling packets over fences. They get used by all sorts of companies from tiny ebay shops to Amazon and other massive etailers. I've not had anything delivered by them for about a year, but they have been on the go for several years now.

They are formally white arrow, who then changed to HDNL who then purchased the failing DHL.

They have existed in one form or another delivering catalogue deliveries and stuff for BHS and john Lewis for decades.

DHL trucks are now branded DHL@Home.

City Link are ancient.

I had HDNL 'deliver' a parcel recently. Was a Christmas gift for my mum. I live in a set of flats on the second floor. Rather than actually attempt to deliver the package the guy left it on the stairs on the ground floor.

By the time I got home the package was empty as someone else had decided that they would rather have it leaving me with an empty box and no gift. I can't understand the laziness that he couldn't even be bothered to attempt to deliver, I checked the time for the delivery on their tracking report, my flat mate was in during the time they delivered it.

Unless you've got mental issues I was pretty obvious I was referring only to the back log they currently have and how you magically feel that they will catch up as soon as the snow clears.

Offering you the chance to pick it up so you get your goods earlier is also common in times like this. And as I posted, I've never used them so can't comment.

But instead of making a thread here about it, have you actually complained to the delivery company as well as the shops that are using them? If they get enough complaints either the delivery company will sort it out, or the shops will just stop using them resulting in them having to sort it out!

Brilliant. This is the first time I've used a courier and they're picking up tomorrow. Guess who?

It's a guitar in a hard case and packaging around the case so hopefully it won't get damaged.

I'll let you know how it goes.

My neighbours have moved and the house is empty, so they left a £250 parcel with the folks down the road. I suppose I should be grateful that they didn't do what the last of their crew did and leave it behind the gate. In the rain.

I blame the Post Office Unions: the last strike drove companies like Amazon, who rely on cheapness, to move to them because they are so cheap. There's a now a couple of suppliers I never use because they have these clowns as their couriers.

I was sitting here thinking "poor guy, I hope he sorts something out with them"

So just for a laugh I go and look up the status on my parcel which I've been waiting since the middle of November for, and yup it's still sitting at the freaking Bamber Bridge depot.

then I notice my carrier is also HDNL !

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo !!!

So I'm totally screwed as well,
and so is the LCD monitor they are going to chuck over my wall :(

my mum had something attemped to be delivered 2 weeks ago, before the weather started, but she went on holiday, but now we cant even get to redilver OR pick it up 'cos they wont let us

I've used HDNL a few times and so far, have been pretty lucky. Had a TV delivered a few years ago which turned up nice and early and more recently, a bed and a wardrobe.

They ended up losing my housemate's fridge (a massive 7ft thing!) but it turned up eventually, although how you *lose* a fridge is beyond me.
