I recently purchased a 6970 because some guy on a forum said it was the dogs dangly bits but it turned out to be a damp squib. Please can you help me get my money back.

I am glad i purchased a 6950 now. :)

I do think Martini should have come clean straight away though and told us it was fake. Lets have a banhammer vote.

To be fair to Martin though, and it's a very very very small scraping of 'fairness' in his defense... Gibbo did actually say 'I have got the newer drivers, but didn't have chance to bench with these' :p

The problem is not everyones experienced enough to question whatever results were posted on the forum, infact little reason not to trust your claimed figures. On that basis you can't pass it off as just telling people what they wanted to hear.

I feel sorry for any member whos been saving for christmas to splash out on a graphics card only to be dupped them into parting with a lot of money under false information.
 
I think lesson learned and he won't post fakes on OCUK anymore, is that not enough? do we have to act like animals and crave the poor guys blood.

Indeed. Permaban sounds a bit over the top but you posted these knowing they were fake Martin, other forums are taking them them for truth and reposting them while saying they came from OcUK which takes the whole thing to another level. I would agree with a holiday though for lying :)

now i see why someone else was complaining about how obnoxious you are in another thread. i'm not allowed to give my opinion because of my post count am i not? right. well, i'll try and label it a little clearer for you. in my personal opinion it's what anyone would deserve for giving out deliberately misleading information (which isn't obviously so) on the eve of a major release which had already dominated by intense and contrasting speculation, purely for one's own personal amusement. information that may or may not have had an influence on people less in the know, coming on these forums for intelligible, and factual advice/information. if having 2000 posts means this sort of behaviour is accepted, as well as meaning you're above forum rules, well that just seems a little wrong.

How could we not believe you when you never said they was fake ???

You are a long standing member on these forums with over 2000 posts if we are not going to believe you who should we believe ??

I still think it is very wrong and you shouldnt be allowed to get away with it either.

Posting fake results that will have contributed to a lot of people buying these cards on the hope of your benchmarks to be slapped in the face the day after to find out someone off OcUK with as many posts as you has fabricated them for his personal amusement.
