Sudanese woman whipped in the street for wearing trousers

Completely barbaric and disgusting.

You can shove your ''It's their country, their rules'' malarkey right up your ring piece, this isn't just people choosing to eat different foods or something, it's a woman being publicly whipped for wearing some chuffing trousers, there is no way of wording it that makes it right.

But you only think that because we have been brought up thinking this is wrong. Their is no set values of what's right and wrong or good or evil , only what the majority think is acceptable at the time. If you was born and lived in Sudan you would think it was perfectly fine as well.

and we have idiots ranting that the local council putting up a CCtv camera makes this country a police state :(

Would you say the same to a country who legalised child slavery? "Oh it's just their way, who are we to comment, we just don't understand them".

I'm sorry but there not be a CLEAR line between "right" and "wrong" but publicly whipping a woman for wearing trousers is firmly on the "wrong" side of the line and has no place in the world of a species like ours. What you are doing is justifying corporal punishment and denial of basic human rights by way of "difference in culture" and that **** does not fly.

Also yes, I know full well that we and maybe other nations have done terrible things, however what is important is that we DON'T DO THEM ANY MORE, we moved on, we realised our mistakes, if anything that puts us in a great position, we stopped doing these things and became better for it.

What? Please explain, I would love to know how you feel there is a situation wherein it is "understandable" and reasonable in this day and age to publicly beat a woman for wearing trousers.

Its right in the Sudan, and thats all that matters.

Its interfering in things like this, that makes people like them want to come and kill you by blowing themselves up next to you on the bus.

You dont like what they do, neither do I, but you have to leave them to it, its none of our business, I would go one step further even, NOTHING that happens there is any of our business, that includes sending them aid money, Its not our concern.

actually if they're using religion as justification for this the same thing justifies them killing you simply for not believing in it too.

Because they have been brought up thinking its fine. The same way we have been brought up to think its bad. They are not some evil race of people. Like i said if you was born in Sudan and lived their you wouldn't be the only person in the country who was morally superior you would be laughing at the women being whipped. Their is no moral code written in our DNA we only get that from conditioning/nurture. This is why i understand why there doing it.

The same way I understand that if a child was to phone 999 for fun.. he has done something wrong but if nobody ever told him it was wrong how can we expect them to not call 999.

( and no im not comparing the severity of a 999 prank call to whipping in the streets, its just a example )

Dear god I can't believe people actually think like this.

If your neighbour was from the Sudan and decided to beat his Sudanese wife in the street outside your house would you walk by without a comment because "it's right where they come from?", or is it just because it's in a different country that you feel it's fine to let this kind of barbarism continue?

Let me clarify that I don't really care what laws they hold, if they don't want women wearing trousers then whatever, not a big deal, it is purely the punishment I am against, regardless of culture or country, that should not happen, we are a modern civilisation, we are capable of amazing and incredible things, we should not be beating women in the street.

But it wouldnt, because I dont live in the Sudan, If they did that here, it would be wrong.

I would have to be incredibly stupid to go and up sticks to live in a festering **** hole like the sudan with its medievel ways and backwards laws knowing full well what the consequences would be if anyone there ever found out what I though about the place and their way of life.

Let me clarify, I dont live in the sudan, If I had a Sudanese neighbour he would be living in the Uk and subject to UK law.

I was referring to that^

You don't need to interfere to give them want to do it because with these kind of nutters they already want you dead and believe it right to kill you.
