Fallout: New Vegas

I was doing ED-E My Love last night (sounds wrong!) and I thought that I should warn people about getting him upgraded - you will loose any stuff that he is carrying!

I am sure that it must have been mentioned before but please make sure that you empty him before handing him over to anyone.

I had decided to follow the quest through and handed him over, continued to play for a few days (in game and in real time) before I got the notification that he was finished. Found him empty. It would take a very long time to replay from my save before handing him over.

I have just found out that with a bit of in game console fiddling I should be able to get my stuff back which I will try later, but it should be made clear in game that this would happen, was a bit annoyed.

Anyway had a nice evening with Rex last night as I was lonely.

Loving this game.

You can use the console commands to get your kit back, that's what I did

you can get your items back through the console, first enter "prid 1732d1" and then "OpenTeammateContainer 1", this will open a trade window where you can get your stuff back from his inventory after the upgrade

****Possible Spoilers****

I did complete this a few days ago, got the Ending I *almost* wanted, but I did Kill Keane at Jacobstown (because my Speech wasn't high enough) so that affected the Ending and cleaning out the NCR Correctional Facility also affected the Ending.

Aside from that, I did keep Cass and Rex alive and by the time I got to the Legate Skirt Guy, I managed to Speech Check him so He retreated.

That's all I'm saying ;)

Prior to patch 1.2 the sniper rifle had a damage rating of 62; this has now been adjusted to 42, to compensate for the high fire rate when compared to the hunting rifle

:sadpanda:

They couldn't have just reduced the rate of fire?!

edit: They have also lost their x5 critical chance multiplier. Sniper rifles have just gone from "by far the best weapon in the game" to "mediocre at best".

Crap, high damage and 5x critical is what the rifle was good at

damn, wasn't that the whole point of the sniper rifle? and choosing the sniper perk etc? for it to be your best weapon in the game when you reach higher levels? they have just ruined the sniper.

edit: i wont be updating. i like my one shot kill rifle way too much :D

Indeed...

And this changes the whole character build. I mean, if sniper rifles were not so powerful, I would not have chosen the "sniper" perk, and would have gone for "shotgun surgeon" instead (for example), in order to have a good DT bypass weapon.

This is the biggest nerf in the history of nerfs :p Instead of 100% critical shots (186 damage per shot with "better criticals" and Boone's beret), you now get 42 damage. That's pretty much 1/4 the damage, even when you include a 20% chance of a critical hit.

I'm getting occasional audio issues where I can't hear what NPCs or saying, or sound effects such as gunshots... is this a known bug and is there a way to fix it?

Finally got round to playing, after buying this about a month ago!

Only thing I've noticed, some AWFUL textures. Feel's like my rig is slacking, so was curious if there's any high res texture packs available yet.

Apologies if this has been mentioned earlier, can't bring myself to read 60 pages :p

That requires a strength of 8, expensive rounds, no silencer and a slow reload.

I had to use the Anti-Materiel Rifle with Incendiary ammo on Hoover Dam to have any hope of defeating the NCR and Legion lot - but I did have to get my strength up to 8 to use it (although my Guns skill was appaling, something like 40) so it still shook a lot.
