Fallout: New Vegas

Just download this: http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=34703

Single greatest tool for Fallout.

Open it up, load only FalloutNV.esm

After that locate whatever weapon/item you want under FalloutNV.esm.

To change the crit rate, find Sniper Rifle, scroll down to the bottom on the right hand window and you will see a section titled "CRTD - Critical Data", just change "Crit %% Mult" to 5.0, to change the base damage back to 62, first change the "Crit Damage" in the above named section to 62, then about half way down the right window is a section titled "DATA", just change the "Base Damage" to 62.

Seriously though its an awesome tool, it allows you to do things like alter models, names, weapon spreads, ammo types, armor stats. You can also alter OTHER mods without having to bother with the Geck.

Edit: Ok for some reason that doesn't work, won't let me edit those values, just do it in Geck, more hassle, same effect.

I played it on Hardcore the first time around - it got a bit fiddley and sometimes annoying, but it wasn't too challenging for me.

Not sure what the default difficulty setting is in Hardcore mode - I might crank it up slightly if this is possible.

Normal, by default. You can raise the difficulty through the options menu.

On the higher difficulty levels (hard / very hard) you will take more damage, and enemies are more difficult to kill.

I lost Rex somewhere, is there any way of getting him back?

You'll have to use console commands. This is for ED-E but should work the same.

Fallout Wiki said:
If ED-E is rendered unconscious via an explosion it has a tendency to disappear, but will remain stuck as a companion. If ED-E disappears but is still a companion (check if you still have the Enhanced Sensors Perk) e.g. After triggering the Vault 22 explosion/fire, Use the console with the prid <refid> command, then you need to type disable, followed by enable, then moveto player. It may also be necessary to use resurrect as well in order to retrieve him as he may have been marked as dead despite being essential. needs verification

Does this game suffer from being slightly poorly optimized?

The games runs almost perfectly on my system, but with the occasional hitch...

Feels like my cpu is bottlenecking the game...

I sometimes get that feeling too. Mine runs fine but the stuttering and jerkiness can be a pain sometimes. I've tried a few of the commonly known fixes for it but it doesn't seem to have helped.

damn, wasn't that the whole point of the sniper rifle? and choosing the sniper perk etc? for it to be your best weapon in the game when you reach higher levels? they have just ruined the sniper.

edit: i wont be updating. i like my one shot kill rifle way too much :D
i bet there's a mod to sort that, sniper is one of the best in the game, but i do think the AM rifle should be more powerfull being as it'.50Cal and the sniper being .308Cal it's not just the Cal of the guns that make a 50Cal so much more powerful it's the size of the charge in the case i think the 50Cal round has about 5x the charge in the 308

Guys,

I really need some antivenom but I'm all out; any idea where I can buy some more? I need at least 5 lots :p

I have caps waiting...

Could always console some into existence....

Alternatively you could craft some with Survival, req 40, 1 Nightstalker Blood & 4 Radscorpion Poison Glands if your feeling a little less omnipotent.

Finally got round to playing, after buying this about a month ago!

Only thing I've noticed, some AWFUL textures. Feel's like my rig is slacking, so was curious if there's any high res texture packs available yet.

Apologies if this has been mentioned earlier, can't bring myself to read 60 pages :p

Yep been playing last two days...

Poor optimization, makes my rig feel like its slightly underpowered.

Also terrible textures, for a late 2010 game! Graphics straight out of oblivion... bugs galore as well. Like people talking to you, whilst they are floating with their head in the ceiling!

Fun game tho.... Fallout universe is the ultimate post apocalyptic rpg!

Just started this again - I picked the following build - Strength 6; Perception 5; Endurance 5; Charisa 6; Intelligence 6; Agility: 6 and Luck 6.

I also selected Trigger Discipline and Heavy Handed as my Perks.

Guns, Repair and Speech are 32.

My last Character had the same S.P.E.C.I.A.L as above, but I have changed all the other parts as my Guns skill was pretty dire last time. I will probably go full NCR this time, or House. I did Yes Man/Independent New Vegas last time.

There is a texture pack available here

Haven't tried it myself yet but it's on my list of mods to try :)

Im right at the begining of the game, so please no spoilers, but, im sure its nothing to be concerned about, during the mission to find a sheriff for Primm, I couldnt find NCR only the NCRF so I accepted the Meyers (i thnk his name is) but, of course I went ahead and killed all the cons, then I got a message saying that a message that I had failed a mission, I obviously hadnt got yet (think it was called I fought the law)

Nothing to be concerned about right?

Just a twist where I went down one path and closed another?
