Arcade Sticks

Really they are true arcade parts with arcade layout, then again you may never have played on an arcade machine. You have bad experience with one of them????

Most arcade cabinets now use the Viewlix layout and a square-gate. I wouldn't advise anyone to start off using octo-gate. Even grapplers.

Don't be so defensive. If you're happy with your purchase, good for you, but don't go on a crusade for it just because it's in your living room.

If course I have played on many arcade machines, and used the x arcade stick. Strange comment to make :-\

If you have the money to burn and know where to import them, how about the HORI Real Arcade Pro Premium VLX.

As mentioend above, these are replica's of the standard Viewlix layout and Taito arcade cabinets used throughout Japan.

Used one of those at SvB, they have lots of nice features but far too many issues for a stick with that price tag.

Sorry for the double post, can't edit posts on my phone.

You are right of course is was refering to my first post sorry, as i said was brought for Mame and for that era of video games, i have not played a modern arcade machine for years, so that layout works fine, plus the fact that all buttons are programmable.

Then what makes the x arcade stick so bad cause like i said same internals as youre modded or home made sticks, near enough same layout and size. Is it just the price or am i missing something i dont like to think i just spent £125.00 on a piece of crap, these supposed to be the best selling sticks out there, as most emulators support them direct.

I changed mainly because I was playing SFIV that much I was getting blisters on my thumbs from trying to pull combo's, doesn't happen now.

I have four sticks... Two FS3's modded to be fully Sanwa, a Hori Real Arcade Pro with Sanwa buttons, and recently I bought a Madcatz TE for my 360.

For desk play, I really like the FS3's actually they are on my PC's for desk mame play and once upon a time SF4 PC play. I use the HRAP for lap play SSF4 on the PS3 and the TE for the same thing on the 360, and for other games that work well with them.. I removed the rubber feet on the TE because they were digging into my thighs a little and I'll never use it on a desk..

Which one do I prefer out of the TE or the HRAP ? Neither really, both as good as each other. The TE feels more solid and its easier to get into if you want to change the gate over. I don't use the cable compartment, i found it too much work, so upto you.. I am in agreeance with Kreeeee, don't get that other stick it'll be too heavy. The TE is bordering on too heavy for lap play.. For desk play, perfect... But for lap play, it's a little on the heavy side.. For my FS3's i've made them weigh a ton, and they are my desktop sticks.
