*** The Official HTC Desire (Bravo) Thread! ***

It does work but the lowest brightness in auto is often too low (value of 1 notch in manual mode) so I've resorted to using notch 4 in manual mode, it's the best brightness for indoor and outdoor use I find until autobrightness is upped to Sense ROM levels.

DeFrost on occasion has this issue too as do most other AOSP ROMs.

Hi guys, Im new to the whole flashing and I wanted something basic to start off. I used Modaco R9 additions with A2SD. cleaned all cache and formated everything, a fresh install leaves me with 80MB then after its updated 70MB. Im pretty clueless on how it all works is this normal? I used Rom manager to partition the Ext; I have a Samsung 8Gb Class 6 Card. it also loads a lot when i exit programs either pressing Home or return button it flashes up "HTC" then says loading 8 secs or so then u can access the home screen again? I have minimal apps I think 33 in total and now i have 48Mb left, using titanium backup to move the apps that can be moved to SD. I read people having over 100MB of free space space and at this rate I will end up with no space at all because it seems Ap2sd only puts very minimal info onto the SD and the Modaco system seems to take half the space so Im not really gaining anthing. can someone point me in the right direction :)

I've flashed the latest radio and still having wifi issues. New router is on it's way! I hope it is the router as I'm not sure what else to try?!

Thanks

Code:
Filesystem Size Used Available Use% Mounted on
tmpfs 203.2M 0 203.2M 0% /dev
/dev/block/mtdblock4 40.0M 1.4M 38.6M 4% /cache
/dev/block/mmcblk0p1 3.1G 435.7M 2.7G 14% /sdcard

Does that look right?

Is that it? You should have more mount points than that - like /system /data etc.

Your EXT AP2SD partition will be mmcblk0p2 :)

Yeah, df shows your mounted partitions - Recovery only mounts certain ones, hence why you only saw a few.

So you have a 457mb EXT partition (512, but you don't get all of that 512 due to the file system).

Also, you have Angrybirds installed to your SD card FAT partition :)

Thanks for explaining :)

Does it matter if things are stored on the EXT partition or the FAT?

Not really, only issue is the application won't be available when your SDCard is mounted as a disk drive to your PC.

Only other thing to consider, is it's taking space up on your SDCard - if you have so much available on EXT, might as well move it there (Settings -> Applications -> SDCard -> Application -> Move to phone) so that you have your FAT space for removable storage. :)

Yeh at the moment I've only got a 4gb card so I think I'll keep things in the SD EXT for now. Hopefully going to get a 16gb card soon and I can just keep random apps like angry birds on the FAT :)

is it recommended to s-off device by flashing n1 table ?

how anyone else done it and what are the benefits.

im on defrost 6.1 atm, should i be fine with this rom as i have seen you guys mentioning the flashing only works with certain roms.

also is the only way to flash new n1 table to use iso live cd flash utlity ?

has anyone done any repairs on there desire? mine has been dropped so many times now the bezel is chipped all the way round. i have insurance but i bet they will just write it off and give me a slcd one or have my phone for a month, was wondering about doing some repairs myself

You can't flash N1 unless you S-Off so it kind of is :p

can you explaining briefly how to go about it.

i got the iso cd

ive download the n1 table img.

do i just follow instruction on live cd to turn s-off

once thats done i put img in sdk folder and then flash ?

You can just swap the innnards with a new phone (DIY guide online) so you can keep the AMOLED.

Or see if sellers on ebay now stock Desire housings.

ok guys, ive flashed it. its now S-off

where do i put the img file . i heard something about sdk tool folder, where do i find that ?

Install the android sdk, put the img in the tools folder and then run a command prompt there and use the commands given on the alpharev site.

ok so straight after s-off my device. i need to download android sdk ?

unzip it and run sdkmanager, while phone is in bootloader and run fastboot mode ?

My phone has crashed twice this morning, once when I received a text message, and again when I went in the browser :(

Really want to keep Oxygen, but these reboots are putting me off :( I'll try 1.0.4 to see if the bug goes away, after that I'll hunt for another rom :/

im confused. I ran fastboot.exe in command prompt using following command:

fastboot flash hboot bravo_alphaspl.img

i get waiting for device.

nothing happens ?

what am i doing wrong
