Car park ding, owner hesitant to pursue

Glad she got done for it, i share everyone else's hate for people like this.

Wonder how she's react if you put a brick through her house window? Oh it's only a house.

Ignorant bint.

Poor guy. He knows if he loses his NCB he wont be able to insure his Fiesta ST, hence he's worried. But if he claims from her insurance company, then he won't need to claim on his insurance and his NCB is safe.

He will need to involve the police though to get her details - the accident will need to be reported as a failiure to stop, and you'll need to be a witness.

Please do it - she deserves everything she gets.

+ 1 !!!!!!!!!!!!

Let us know if you ever find out what did happen with the police and how he does with getting it all fixed outside of his insurance.

I had something similar which went through loss recovery and police but never heard the result. Was advised she was to be charged with leaving the scene of an accident, failing to provide details and driving without due care and attention. She should have got up to £1000 fine and 10 points.

Police promised me an update every 2 - 4 weeks but heard nothing and chases became a waste of time as was always promised a call back or letter.

The 3rd party witness is what swings it and I have a feeling that she admitted liability to avoid prosecution as she does have 24 hours to report it and once contacted by her insurance company may have been quick to sort it.

Gave up on getting her prosecuted as my legal cover got it all repaired from her insurance without me having to pay out anything. I do have to report a notification only accident with no losses and no liability however for the next few years.

Any news on how he is getting on?

I had an update on mine from the police for a 3rd party ding when I wasnt even in the car and the woman reversed into me with witnesses. She has been summonsed to court on the 14th Jan and is facing 3 charges (Driving without due care and attention, leaving the scene of an accident and failure to report an accident). Police are confident of getting her on all 3 using just the witnesses accounts. She is facing a couple of grand in fines, lots of points and potential bans. That and her insurance is going to rocket! Good old life lesson there I think for her!

Hopefully the same sort of this is going to happen for the guy with the Fiesta!

I hope so too.. I won't know anything until the 4th when we reopen as the last time i saw the fella he was being loaded into a Caravelle by his dad for a trip to the Highlands :D

People like that make me sick. Had it done to me last year. Massive dent in the rear of my car when I returned to it.
Also witnessed a women with the same mentality in a carpark. She reversed without looking - I mean literally without looking - into a car, then uttered "there are more important things in life I really don't have time for this" as I stepped in to be a witness during the aftermath. Well yeah love, that may be true, but we know how much hassle and expense it's going to cost us through your mistake and hence we do pounce. I'm still trying a year on from the pizza guy hitting me to sort it out. Idiot won't admit liability. Absolute morons all of em.
