Well since I'm pretty proud of my wife in all aspects, I'll bite :D

This thread's gone pretty off track but I know Gibbo and he won't mind any thread being derailed with female pics....

Is that you in the pic with her?

2k for the part! Ouch! Good to hear it won't cost you mate

Does that mean you can't fling it round corners at sound barrier breaking speeds :p
You must be getting bored!

I can't imagine Gibbo taking it easy. He'll see this as a challenge ;)

I always used to underestimate warranties, then again they're only as good as what the fine print says - however having been stung in the past, I do make sure i get a decent warranty now days. :)

Nope driving it as hard as I possibly can still.

On dry tarmec its just a bit more disconnected, and it pushes wide easier as its no longer mover power around between wheels. Its still very capable, just not as capable as an EVO with functioning AYC/Diffs.

But in this weather its still fine, makes mince meat of sludge/snow covered country lanes and still dohnuts fine. :D

Good news bout the warranty, how long have you got left on it? Are you going to renew or sell on?

This is what concerns me the most about buying an above average car, unexpected repair costs. I'm still debating my purchase but when you tally up all the costs involved it goes from spending 30k on a car (albeit second hand, not in the new car money just yet) to potentially spending up to 10k a year on maintenance :(

Warranties seem to be a necessity.

The Ayc pump went on my Evo 6 that was around 45k. It was a complete dog to drive it felt so unconnected and loose...
I managed to get a used part and fit it myself but the difference once it was all working, it was like a new car...

Aye sounds about right, its slow to turn in, and it pushes wide when applying power mid corner instead of tightening up, its just a bit more understeer/oversteer happy.

If it was Summer I'd be hugely annoyed and be wanting it fixed immediately but in this weather with snow covered roads I am not burying throttle mid corner, though I am still burying it on corner exit. :D

How many of those miles have you done yourself Gibbo? Thats a hell of a lot of miles for a car thats only 2(and a bit?) years old. Ive read that the AYC pump is a bit dodgy on all Evos once you pass 50k/3 years.

Doesn't have to be above average. After a spell of bad luck I've had around £1700 of unscheduled repairs on my Octavia :(

Unfortunately it came in two hits, if it was one bill I'd have binned it.
