Just wanted to say she came home monday after an op sunday to plate and pin her left ankle. Official name for the injury was a trimalleolar fracture (three breaks with dislocation of the ankle) and near protusion of the ankle bone itself through her leg ...after seeing pics of it like THIS one, she is now going to make a point of asking to see her x-rays when she goes back to see her consultant at the end of the month. Sick wench!!!
:D

Also, apologies to the mods for the original thread and not starring out all the swearies!!!

She slipped getting in the minibus after her works do friday night, came straight back out onto her left foot which ended up wedged between the kerb and the minibus...
:(

Ok her ankle is broken & we're all gutted but the rest of her is Ok so Pics or it didn't happen bla bla bla :D

Get well soon Mrs jon.bda ;)

Sorry, didn't think to get any pics friday night of when her foot was sticking out at a 45 degree angle to the rest of her leg! :D. Thats one shes taken...as i say, shes facinated now about the idea of seeing her x-rays...anyone know if they'll do you a copy?
:D

Ouch, those christmas parties are trouble I tell ya! Hope she's on the mend soon :)

My Mrs did something similar 2 years ago, except she landed on her face.

Her toes look like little sausages.

LOL
:D

Thanks for the good wishes guys, they have said that it should heal quick and that they want her out of plaster in two weeks time and doing phsyio for four weeks after the cast is off. Fingers crossed for her as she is starting a new job after xmas!!!
:)

OUCH!!!. What gets me is the fact my missus was the sober one of the bunch...she'd only had two drinks all night and then been on coke!. Think if she had of been piddled she might of fallen better, i.e. ended up flat on her back instead of trying to save herself...
:o

I asked fm if she was drunk but she swears she wasn't, it was hard to tell after it happened because she was histerical with panic. We think the steps were wet and I wanted to get CCTV so I could sue the hotel but she didn't want to.

Maybe it was just an accident, I fall overt own feet sometimes but never that spectacularly lol.

I had a fall today, and I'm normally so careful but it's easy done. 2pm this afternoon and the temperature was a balmy -16 degrees c so even the salt is doing naff all.

Gave my shoulder a right ding off my van as I'd literally just stepped out carrying 2 toasties :( Neck is still killing me.

Be careful out there! Hope your wife recovers quickly :)

Bit of a random update, but shes been for a checkup recently and she managed to get a pic of the 'pooter screen...

...still makes me cringe just thinking about it!!!

Ankle injury if anything like mine will take a long while to heal up decently, possibly years.

I fractured both of mine, and for years i would fall or trip up for no apparent reason.

Wisdom has taught me it was my ankle being weaker from the incident, so physio will of course be quite important.

The more active she is the better, it'll speed things up nicely.

Mine was a silly little injury as well, jumped from a small rock only to land with both feet sideways, ouch. :(

Get one of them wobble-boards! Great for strengthening ankles up again :)

Also, blokey printed off a copy of his X-ray as a small photo to keep in his wallet, just in case an airport metal-detector goes off on it...
