5850 Or 6850

Thanks lol. Apart from you not being able to read the graphs(which we're working on), any other reasons you didn't like my review? To sum it up, the 6850 gets beaten constantly. I can't see how you're missing it!

I'm not here to review your site. Although its so badly written and displayed I gave up.

I'm not saying the 6850 doesn't get beaten.

What I am sating is that the gap is not big enough to warrant discarding the 6850 route for all the reasons I mention.

I hat reviiews that don't look at the bigger picture.

I get all the disputing between the different cards here Re 5 Vs 6 series but for those who really are after a 6xxx wouldn't a better bit of advice be to wait a very short time for the non reference coolers and pre overclocked 1's to start to appear. As remember a lot of the comparisons going on in this thread are reference 6 series against highly tweaked 5 cards.

As things are as it stands at this very moment the 5850's are a complete bargain and shouldn't be ignored in favour of some of these early 6 series cards.

I don't really get the point about the 6850 being more future proof...

eyefinity, direct x 11, crossfire both cards have the tech, the 5850 can support AMD's HD3D aswell....

Don't see what it is in 'future' games that either card will or will not beable to do... neither will support dx12 when its released... what is it 'tech' or 'future proof' wise the 6850 will support that the 5850 cannot?

The only thing the 6850 has over the 5850 is its tessellation but even then its not that great at it (especially compared to Nvidia). Not so great its added tessellation is going to make it out power the 5850's extra horse power in games that use it, just balance it out.

If the intention was single card 5850 all the way...

If Crossfire was the intention at some point then definitely 6850... will out perform 2x5850's in most games and even 2x5870's in a few its so good at scaling (http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/ATI/Radeon_HD_6850_CrossFire/)

why

the two 5850 are roughly = 5970.

they look lvl to me and they will run cooler with this heatsink on. This 5850 MSI TWIN FROZR is a non-brainier in single or crossfire configuration over the 6850...

Due to the improved xfire scaling of the 6000 series. However, since the price of the MSI 5850 is so good someone would be best look at something like the HIS 6850 versions. Any of the others would be a bit too expensive in relation to the gains. :)
