I'm looking into going late next year. GF was meant to go last year with some friends but it never happend,
so I am looking into arranging a week away together as a suprise. Not sure yet if the proposal will be on the cards though ! :D

Out of interest, what sort of price range would I be looking at for 2 people going for the week around October 2011 time inclusive of flights/hotel etc?

So you went to NY and chose to see the "Friends" and "Sex and the city" house/steps but left the statue of liberty and ground zero out of your list instead.

i think we got a decent deal because we booked it 12 months in advance, jan last year. for the w hotel on times square which i think is 4-4.5star for 4 nights and flights etc cost £2100.

if you plan on shopping aswell, we took £3000 spends. tho we did have a couple of big purchases in mind of around £1000 each. we also missed about 2 days total and came home with pretty much no money left.

i went to get a macbook, propose, see central park and the museum.

i also did not plan to get ill on the 2nd day when planed to go to those things on the 3rd day :)

cant be going up and down the city all day or you waste a lot of time walking, got to do it in sections.

Thanks for the info.

Just had a quick look round & £2K for hotel/flights seems to be the going rate.
Looks like I'll have to start saving ! LOL

its crazy how expensive newyork is, for the same money you could have had 2-3 weeks in disney world florida! :D

i can understand why people want to visit NY though
