***The Official Gran Turismo 5 Thread***

If you get stuck for XP and money just do special events like go marts and Amg to cash up or look up the highest paying face you can win and grind it 3 times check cash and used cars and hope. The online seasonal events pay big time too.

You WILL need a Gallardo, so that's always worth buying early on (I appreciate you can't buy it until you're level x) and as has been said above, licence tests are good for winning cars, as is B-spec :)

Right i've officially given up on the B-SPEC nascar series. If he ain't shredding his tires on the last but one lap and having to pit in he's spinning out and coming last.

Winding me up now had 5 tries and it today and the best i came in the championship was 8th plus he has extra horsepower from oil changes nearly 900 bhp

Same here lap 15 pit in :( WTF is going on I keep telling him to go easy and it just ruins the tyres got max downforce on and hitting the limiter on the straights so I cant do any more, My driver is level 29 FFS

I genuinely can not fathom why you lot are playing B-Spec . It sounds truly horrible. I know you are getting cars and money for it, but it barely sounds worth it. At best it's a waste of electricity while your PS3 plays the game for you!

haha, it's a quick money maker while you're doing something else.
I'm earning 5k per minute while I sit here and watch full metal alchemist :D
You get some good cars from it too. Toyota 7 = easiest way to do historic race car cup, no spending 20m.

Have you tried the anti skid race option ? might help stability. I dont recall the car ever spinning on me and found it a joy to handle compared to the z1

And we have a winner! Have some sort of internet based cookie :)

Turns out iv been playing like a man and had it turned off since day one on this. Turned my ZR1 into a joy to drive at full pelt round trial mountain! (couldnt be bothered to wait to get the minolta out as this is about fast enough)

I feel your pain i really do.

think some people are just getting lucky with nascar in b spec

one thing i do love about b spec give bob a fast car and he shines he's currently doing 30 laps on susuka for the Extreme GT championship in a minolta he's currently in leave him to it mode i'll just check on him after 15 laps to make sure he gets fuel

bob? My drivers are Vanessa Wojiechowski, she's the daughter of a Polish farm labourer who learnt race craft driving old wrecks around fields. Aged 13 she built herself a large go-kart from an old tractor and various other bits of farm machinery.
Paul Alford is your fairly typical British club racer turned pro. He used to be a chemical engineer in the tyre industry. He's gone from making tires to breaking tires

:D That was pretty funny i only call him bob because his name is unpronounceable lol i keep swearing at him in nascar and the wife keeps asking who bob is. She told me to call him something better than BOB lol :)

Jeez, very disapointed at the B-Spec level 35 endurance race. 24 hours of driving and 6,000 miles later, I get a Toyota GT-ONE Race Car, just under 300k and 2.2m exp. Exp was OK but the rest was a bit of a joke :(

Need to repeat that race 5-7 times to get the last one.

lol, yea it takes time, but you do get some cool free cars, you just gotta walk away and leave them to it. Endurance races while you sleep.

I think I might be getting somewhere with my FGT car setup tho. Maybe. But tired now.
I'm getting confused here.. reaching for my mouse to control the playstation.. trying to move my cursor with the gamepad.

Doesn't sound so good when you look at A spec. For getting BRONZE, not even silver or gold in the Vettel challenge I got ~450,000 XP, which leveled me up from 28 to 29 in one go :D All I need to do is bronze the other two events now too

Also, don't hate my B-spec talent guys, can you lend people B-spec drivers? If you can I can lend you a couple who I can't use yet (I can only use 4 of 6 in any one race atm)
