I think the mods do a decent job, particularly considering they're doing it in their own time. It's rare to see personal abuse getting out of hand here, but at the same time they can take (and dish out) a joke and understand when somebody isn't being serious.

Mods are like referees, if you don't notice them they are doing a good job.

as far as I am concerned everyone is entitled to their opinion as long as remains within the law, within general standards of decency and is not intended to incite hatred,trouble or arguments

I can't say that I've noticed any real issues with the moderation in the time I've been here. Overall I'd agree with the above quotes.

I hate it on forums where moderators are picked as if it's all some kind of reward. Becoming a moderator isn't a promotion it's a task. And a fairly tedious one at that.

The mods here are great most of the time, and do a good job of letting people have a laugh and voicing their opinions, but also knowing when things are going too far.

Of course whenever I get any of my own posts removed/deleted then the above opinion immediately changes to "NAZIS!!!!".

why does ocuk always have to have political /religious crap.

This is a bit out there but works for me.

If I see a thread with a title like "Help with my girlfriend woes" then I don't click on it.
If I see a thread with Facebook in the title and I don't want to know about Facebook then I don't click on it.
So in your case if you see a religious or political thread don't click on it.
It is very easy.

You cannot blame the mods for other peoples stupidity. They do a great job considering how active the forum is & in my experience people grabbing soap boxes to moan or raise issues doesn't get people very far. By that I mean that it turns small potentially minor issues into some ugly troll fest of doom ... and it's christmas no-one wants that .

As dmpoole has said read the thread title, if it's not for you don't read it .. just like you would with a newspaper. If you go in a thread & you don't like the content press backspace & all will be fine once more ... unless of course it is something that has gotten out of hand then flag it to the mods.

I think the mods do a good job. Some of the posters let themselves down but the mods are there to ensure the forum rules are adhered to, not to be thought police.
