Got this for Christmas. Loving it!
Stuck on one of the B licences atm though. It's the one where you need to navigate a hairpin in a Meganne in 15.6s or something. I've done it in 15.641... GAAAAAAY
For the first time in GT history you don't need to do the licences in order to race. They'll help you learn if you're new to the series, and they get you some nice cars, which will save you a lot of money in the long run
This GT is based entirely around experience levels, which is quite cool. You can only buy certain cars and race in certain races after you're experienced enough
I don't know if the seasonal events are level restricted or not, but they're a good way to make cash, especially if you can borrow the cars
The Special Events on the main GT Life menu are where you can gain loads of money and xp early on and will really help you out early on Be warned you can't win the prize money more than once, If you get first place you will get the sum of all the 1st 2nd 3rd etc prize monies, and if you get 2nd you'll get second and down etc. If you finish 2nd on your first attempt and on your second attempt improve to first you will win just the cash for 1st. (I hope that makes sense)
Do the specials, rake in the xp, then go buy:
A Lamborghini Gallardo (There is a Lambo race
and a Gallardo race later)
A Ferrari 458 Italia (There is a Ferrari race and this car will blow away Veyrons and other "supercars" and can be used in the MR race)
A Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 (ZO6 will do if you're feeling cheap) I'm still using mine in the Extreme and Endurance series, and on racing soft tyres it's unstoppable. Also useful for the FR race
All 3 are available in the new car dealership when you're at a high enough level
Try to avoid selling any cars, I always end up regretting it and you can only win them once
Don't forget about the (often painful to watch) B-spec mode, it has the same events, and gives some cool cars as prizes (Zonda R anyone?

)
