There is no evidence for god existing, there is no proposed scientific theory for god existing, there is ... nothing
In fact, all the evidence we have is that things did not occur as the bible lays out (ie god creating the world in 6 days + 1 day of rest)

As such my position is in fact FACT

You're a wet dream for dolph.

To what level have you studied science, out of curiosity?

So finding out about the way he was brought up is basically me insulting him! Nice work there Tummy!

No, you knew what you were doing ;)

I'm not getting in a **** slinging competition, but the hypocrisy in here is rather amusing.

I've asked nicely. Either make a new thread or stop posting. Last warning.

I'm curious as to what you actually want discussed in this thread if they cannot discuss the rights and wrongs of arguing about religion, given the thread appears to be about moderators response to threads about religion

Don't see how it matters ... but
did 1st year Biochemistry at uni, before transferring to Engineering (and graduating summer 2011 with my Masters in it)

The point is, you do not say "god exists, I have no proof of it, but he does ... now go and prove me wrong" ... you say "I propose that god exists, because of this and this" (with the things being real scientific experiments, with control samples, etc) you then spend a very long time trying to work out a real scientific theory for it.

EDIT: OK Burnsy, this was my last post on religion in this thread

I'm sorry you feel that way, but I like this place and some people are sick and tired of people not being respectful. If you read this thread you would see that some people have had bad experiences.

A lot of people participated and voted and have said some interesting things towards how moderation occurs here.

I feel that this thread should stop being derailed with cheap jibes at people and religious arguments.

If you want to have a religious argument than you can do so by making another thread in SC or GD if you want more trolling.

Edit: Some people here are not even participating constructively and would just like to **** stir or take someone side that is hell bound on causing trouble just so they can see some fireworks.

I agree with you about how you feel. I feel the same but because of the types of people on these forums this just makes a thread fail.

Are you saying the moderators or not strict enough here? Is this what your trying to say?

Perhaps we can discuss moderating of religious threads, without discussing whether those threads need any special type of moderation, or any moderation at all for that matter.

This is a thread about feedback on the moderation of religious debates, not the debate itself.

I'm not sure you can really discuss one without discussing the other

Of course you can  I can give feedback such as these comments are trolling and have not been moderated, or these comments should have been allowed, without actually debating any of the issues.

Surely all thread should be moderated on merit, not because of the subject matter?

I think the mods will make a rod for their own back if moderation is based on the subject matter.

But if I happen to disagree with your view on whether comments should be allowed or disallowed then I would have to initiate a discussion about religion as the reason why I disagree is because of my differing view of the underlying subject

Unless you do not want any discussion between posters, but just them being allowed to post once, and once only, in this thread to give their view

To be honest it needs to go back to how it was back in the day.

Very strict and no mercy. People never used to get warnings until they logged and end up finding they were banned with a message telling them what for.

Threads should stay on topic. And most of these controversial threads divert from the topic and end up trolling/insults/etc.

Also I notice some members do not post anything of value and would rather just argue and troll for the sake of it to get a reaction so they can see a fight start and someone banned. Its like they get a high off it.

The other perspectives that some members take is a "i don't give a ***" attitude and think you are moaning or kicking up a fuss about nothing.

"relax man, stop moaning, grow up"

I'm not exactly posting about a childish issue about weather being annoying.

It is a civil discussion about about toleration of these types of thread.

The moderation is fine and well balanced most of the time, if you want stricter moderation maybe seek it elsewhere?

The poll needs to be phrased differently. It is the opposite of the thread title and people are voting without reading the actual poll question.

Generally I don't have a problem with the moderation here.

My 2 concerns/greivances are as follows:

1) I post a lot of detailed information in courier threads. It's a topic I know quite a lot about and education helps people understand better when things go wrong. If these posts are made in a thread about DPD (OcUK's courier of choice) the thread generally gets deleted. This aggravates me because I put effort into my posts, and to see them removed along with the rest of the trash is annoying.

2) I was a little concerned that Motors would become over-moderated because of a few people who find it antisocial or unwelcoming. It isn't either - it's just honest, one of the most honest motoring forums around actually. Luckily the over moderation appears to have fizzled out and things have largely returned to normal. People still get offended on behalf of other people but that's part and parcel of it I suppose.

Not at all. Opinions on the debate aren't really relevant. You could say that a lot of the debates aren't constructive and lead to insults and trolling. I've not made an opinion, but have given feedback.
